Miami is different than any other city in the US and in the world to be honest. There is an elevated exocticness, yet it is truly American. I would say it is almost like America's conceptual interpretation of a tropical resort. It is very much conservative and "Southern" in the sense that it is a large urban area that doesn't see as much of the degredation and blight that many other large American metropolitan areas experience.
