Their names: Mathew, Mark, Luke and John; were given to each gospel long after they came about. Also, the 4 gospels do not agree at all when it comes to several key issues like the resurrection. They don’t even agree with each other. Not to mention todays bibles are composed of: Protestants-66 books Ethiopic-81 books Catholic-73 books Eastern Ortho-77 books... So you see even MORE contradictions within it. The followers of Jesus who knew him were the Ebionites. Not one Ebionites was invited to ANY council (Nicea, etc). Those who knew those who knew Jesus were not invited. Most of them were poor people, and the poor were not invited. Only leaders and the wealthy and influential were invited. Wouldn’t you think that they would invite those who knew those who knew Jesus personally, if they truly sought truth?

I have a basic question concerning The Gospels that others will probably bring up. How can we Muslims accept that the teachings that Jesus preached in Matthew and Mark (The two oldest) were HIS teachings if the authorship of these Gospels is in question? I know that scholars have suggested that the sermons contained in the gospels of Matthew and Thomas may have come from a single written source, but this is just a theory as no written source has yet been found. (My personal theory is that if one exists, it's probably hidden somewhere in the Vatican!) I have heard other Muslims suggest that the Gospels were tampered with and I can believe that based on how the ending of Mark was changed but what is the general position? For myself, I might occasionally read a random gospel for simple enjoyment but The Quran is my Guide so should this matter even concern me?

MAT 1:6-16 and LUK 3:23-31. Each gives the ancestors of Joseph the CLAIMED husband of Mary and Step father of Jesus. The first one starts from Abraham(verse 2) all the way down to Jesus. The second one from Jesus all the way back to Adam. The only common name to these two lists between David and Jesus is JOSEPH, How can this be true? and also How can Jesus have a genealogy when all Muslims and most Christians believe that Jesus had/has no father. Can I ask a question respectfully. What if the prophet Muhammad was deceived? Muslims claim that the Quran is pure because it came from one man who could not read or write after the angel Gabriel appeared to him and that the bible is corrupted. However the bible has over 40 authors with a clear line running through it from Genesis to Revelation. In a court of law is a testimony of 40 people stronger than 1 person? Through the ages many men have claimed the appearance of angels and revelations. I understand that there are over 2 billion Muslims which is powerful, however the influence of the Quran is from the bible with some differences which means the Quran attests mainly to the bible from probably because Islam came 600 years after Christ and Muhammad would of been influenced by its teaching. Is there anywhere in the bible, a prophetic book, where it attest to the Quran or to the prophet Muhammad? The claim that Jesus is God has many references in the bible. Do Muslims believe that Jesus is the Word of God? Well John 1:1 which is the Gospel of God says in the beginning was the Word, and the the Word was with God and the Word was God. There is clear proof. Jesus saying that He is the I AM, who is the I AM? These are not just debates but absolutely crucial destiny questions..
4) If, as the speaker says, Mary did not have a husband and was not married and became pregnant and the people around her discussed that she is a prostitute and has committed prostitution, then they should have stoned her (kill her) according to the law of God that He gave to Moses .... But in the Bible in the New Testament we see that God chooses a virgin girl Mary who was already engaged but had not yet been touched by a man or her fiancé Joseph and sends his Angel to tell her that he has chosen her to give birth to the Messiah. God did this because he wanted to protect Mary so that she would not be stoned (kill) when she became pregnant by the power of God and was not married. Even her fiance Joseph when he found out that she was pregnant but not from him (because they were not having sexual relations) he decided to chase her secretly because if people found out she was pregnant not by Joseph they would think she has commit prostitution and they would kill her. If Joseph chase Mary but not secretly people then will knew the reason , because they would think that Mary go with an other man and became pregnant and then they would kill her for prostitution according to the Law of God. Things were very strict at that time. And the pious people of God followed his Law which means that they should have killed Mary since she had become pregnant without being married or she had become pregnant with an other man except her fiance. Joseph believe that Mary became pregnant from an other man , that's why he wanted to chase her but SECRETLY BECAUSE SHE WOULD BE KILLED BY THE JEWS. But then God sent an Angel to Joseph and told him not to chase out Mary because what she had in her womb was not created by man but by the power of God. And Joseph obeyed God. And Joseph did not chase Mary. Joseph keeps Mary and did not touch her until she gave birth to Jesus. They would not have sexual relations until she gave birth to Jesus. It is written in the Bible. God doet like that because He wanted to protect her and the baby in her wound. God is smarter from all of us.... He knows everything before even happens... And because he knew that Mary have been kill as a prostitute he protect her by choose her because she was already fiance but virgin.
So if Jesus was sinless as Christians and Muslims both believe: when Jesus taught the Lords prayers and said " forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others their trespasses"....... Was Jesus referring to something he needed to be forgiven for?... Or was Jesus just teaching those who needed forgiveness how they should pray for it?

I have a basic question concerning The Gospels that others will probably bring up. How can we Muslims accept that the teachings that Jesus preached in Matthew and Mark (The two oldest) were HIS teachings if the authorship of these Gospels is in question? I know that scholars have suggested that the sermons contained in the gospels of Matthew and Thomas may have come from a single written source, but this is just a theory as no written source has yet been found. (My personal theory is that if one exists, it's probably hidden somewhere in the Vatican!) I have heard other Muslims suggest that the Gospels were tampered with and I can believe that based on how the ending of Mark was changed but what is the general position? For myself, I might occasionally read a random gospel for simple enjoyment but The Quran is my Guide so should this matter even concern me?

LONDON: More than half of England's Anglican bishops say Christians are not obliged to believe that Jesus Christ was God, according to a survey published today.
The polls of 31 of England's 39 bishops shows that many of them think that Christ's miracles, the virgin birth and the resurrection might not have happened exactly as described in the Bible.

Can I ask a question respectfully. What if the prophet Muhammad was deceived? Muslims claim that the Quran is pure because it came from one man who could not read or write after the angel Gabriel appeared to him and that the bible is corrupted. However the bible has over 40 authors with a clear line running through it from Genesis to Revelation. In a court of law is a testimony of 40 people stronger than 1 person? Through the ages many men have claimed the appearance of angels and revelations. I understand that there are over 2 billion Muslims which is powerful, however the influence of the Quran is from the bible with some differences which means the Quran attests mainly to the bible from probably because Islam came 600 years after Christ and Muhammad would of been influenced by its teaching. Is there anywhere in the bible, a prophetic book, where it attest to the Quran or to the prophet Muhammad?
The claim that Jesus is God has many references in the bible. Do Muslims believe that Jesus is the Word of God? Well John 1:1 which is the Gospel of God says in the beginning was the Word, and the the Word was with God and the Word was God. There is clear proof. 4) If, as the speaker says, Mary did not have a husband and was not married and became pregnant and the people around her discussed that she is a prostitute and has committed prostitution, then they should have stoned her (kill her) according to the law of God that He gave to Moses ....
But in the Bible in the New Testament we see that God chooses a virgin girl Mary who was already engaged but had not yet been touched by a man or her fiancé Joseph and sends his Angel to tell her that he has chosen her to give birth to the Messiah.
God did this because he wanted to protect Mary so that she would not be stoned (kill) when she became pregnant by the power of God and was not married.
Even her fiance Joseph when he found out that she was pregnant but not from him (because they were not having sexual relations) he decided to chase her secretly because if people found out she was pregnant not by Joseph they would think she has commit prostitution and they would kill her.
If Joseph chase Mary but not secretly people then will knew the reason , because they would think that Mary go with an other man and became pregnant and then they would kill her for prostitution according to the Law of God.
Things were very strict at that time.
And the pious people of God followed his Law which means that they should have killed Mary since she had become pregnant without being married or she had become pregnant with an other man except her fiance.
Joseph believe that Mary became pregnant from an other man , that's why he wanted to chase her but SECRETLY BECAUSE SHE WOULD BE KILLED BY THE JEWS.
But then God sent an Angel to Joseph and told him not to chase out Mary because what she had in her womb was not created by man but by the power of God.
And Joseph obeyed God.
And Joseph did not chase Mary.
Joseph keeps Mary and did not touch her until she gave birth to Jesus.
They would not have sexual relations until she gave birth to Jesus.
It is written in the Bible.
God doet like that because He wanted to protect her and the baby in her wound.
God is smarter from all of us....
He knows everything before even happens...
And because he knew that Mary have been kill as a prostitute he protect her by choose her because she was already fiance but virgin.

+Mally Mal sinless...... no!!! this is not what islam says....... islam says no one is completely perfect, islam teaches us that we are all human beings, even prophets, they are the best, but still not perfect! as a matter of fact, in the end of Muhammad peace be upon him life, he was taught in surah nasr, that he has to glorify his lord and ask for forgiveness also...... the prophet himself taught us: i repent to my lord more than 100 times a day, so repent as i do....he is considered the best human being , but still he is not perfect..... this is the big difference between us, we see human beings as they are, even the best of them, we don't see them as gods......and even the prophet before his death said: do not do as christians and jews, they made their priests as lords after their death......... so they may just burry him as simply as it has to be!! this is honesty, this is humanity, and sincerity, these are not the commands of someone who wanted to be a king, or a ruler, the the words of an opressor.... but those of a genuine person who only wanted truth to reach others, not prestige for himself

Jesus saying "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others their trespasses"........ he was praying with them, so firstly he was praying to HIS LORD, not to HIMSELF.... and secondly, he was asking forgivness for his TREPASSESS" ........... and seriousely, do you really take it as an argument: Jesus is sinless because he came to fulfill the law!! does someone told you he was drinking alcohol, eating pork, or fornicating, does soemone told you he was a liar, or a gambler, or something like that!!! no!!! no one told this, but still, prophet mohammed taught us, that every single tiny little thing done in any moment of our lives is either good or bad deed, as small as it is...... even when you think badly or wrongly..... meaning you have to be perfect, you have to be god to watch youself out all the time, and also your thinking!! its just impossible,
