would there be any legal issues sending the rifle back to the UK for daystate to repair? If my air ranger ever goes wrong getting repairs is not such an issue for me as i live about 20 mins drive from the daystate factory
have heard that Daystate after sales is not very good, at least you got emails from Tony , maybe US is a more important market as most of sales are in US, but that hair is not good at all given Daystate bang on about their quality control.

That fibre may have been in your full probe and carried inside as the air passed through into the gun, just a thought,
