Why not all the charging stations install payment through credit card or debit card or T&G more convenient rather than following what China payment must be using App really troublesome.
Because bank charges high fees for card terminal. Each transaction has fees + the terminal itself cost money + monthly additional fees for maintenance/server upkeep

This is definitely the way to go. But on another thing, is it imposing a temporary pre-auth charge on your card? I really hate that petrol stations hold upwards of RM200 for a few days before returning it, and it's even worse when using debit cards (it's my own money walaoeh).

During my stay in USA I don’t even need an app to charge my rental EV. It’s all done a via debit card.
