- Hello everyone and welcome back! This episode was hilarious for me to edit too! Again, we watch most of it and are quiet listening for the most part, but since we've all seen it, I thought the funny and dramatic reactions meant a lot more than no motion. I love my family and friends! Can't wait to watch more with them!
A friend of ours gave me fabric smiley faces as a joke... so what do we do with them? ... We have to wear them! LOL!
I love Nik and Li's reactions when they discover what happened to Sophia. Wow!

Notice how Rick is the one who steps up at the end, Shane all of a sudden doesn't want to be the leader when its hard.

I think Shane totally would have done it, Rick just did it first.
What did he do to make you say he was about to? You could say the same of any of the characters (albeit some would be a much harder sell than Shane) I mean, if you wanna just write gestures in that's not on the screen. I think anyone could see Shane doing it, but he didn't show anything to contemplate the notion. Another way to go is to realize the writers had Shane do nothing on purpose. Not even a step. They made a point to show him looking at Rick walking up with obvious intent and not choosing to try to "one-up" him in this instance.

it's just logic, shane could kill anybody, he hated walkers, why wouldn't he have killed sophia, if rick wouldn't have moved shane would have shot sophia, end of the story. Iit wouldn't make sense if the guy who says walkers ain't humans wouldn't kill one when he's in front of him.
season 2 was amazing, i never understand why people hate it

me neither, season 2 was when I started fallling in love with The Walking Dead, i think the people who hated probably expected it to be a zombie action killing show and not about humans, hope and surival...Some people just don't get the point of the show...

Dale und Herschel were both great. The elder wisdom is what why they were so important for the series. I would have loved to see them longer than only for 1,5~ seasons :/

You gotta love how after that show Shane puts on, it was Rick that had to step up and finish it at the end.

Off screen guy... If there were a cure... it wouldn't work on the people in the barn. They didn't get bitten and then turn. They got bitten... DIED... then turned.
Yeah, it doesn't really follow from a mundane medical perspective. Hershel was expecting something more on the miraculous side when it came to them being cured.
He didn't think they were dead. That's why he was feeding them.
I suspect it doesn't matter. People who get bitten die of sepsis, then turn.

Robert Kirkman appeared on the AMC Walking Dead talk show Talking Dead last night and he confirmed that it was Otis who put Sophia in the barn. He references the conversation Hershel had with Rick at the stream, when he explained that it was once Otis’ job to shepherd the walkers into the barn.

This episode was the most emotional for me when Sophia walked out!🥺 (Though Shane, Lori & Andrea annoys me more than anything!)

Ultimately Shane was in the wrong. Those walkers didn't pose any immediate threat, they could've just left the farm instead.

It's nice to get a fresh perspective to these older episodes. I liked their reaction to seeing Sophia coming out of the barn. I like Nikki calling Lori a whore as well. LOL

I don't think a cure could ever be possible because literally their bodies are rotting. You couldn't have your life restored with your body degraded and deteriorated like that.
Concerning the zombies, I think the argument makes a bit more sense approaching it from Hershel's point of view. At this point, he seems like more of a man of religion, rather than science. So, it's very likely that the cure he was hoping for was something in terms of the magical and miraculous.
I really have enjoyed your reactions with your family, GOT and TWD. I'm really looking forward to the last two GOT eactions with your mom and sisiter.

Also, everyone that saw this episode live, EVEN THE COMIC READERS, because Sophia is alive in the comics STILL!
Though we, and Rick's group understand that the Walkers aren't the people anymore and are really just dead bodies walking around and need to be killed, Hershel did not understand that (We and the group have the information from the CDC to know for sure that they did die), and believes they are still their family and are just sick. So though we know they need to be killed, Shane acting the way he did, is from Hershel's eyes bringing his family out and executing them right in front of him.
The thing that makes dramas regarding zombie apocalypse attractive is not the nauseating scenes of zombies but the complicated emotions characters have in bunch of different kinds of hard situations.

What rick has become now shane was that from starting.
and this episode was the main episode for me to become biggest TWD fan.
They actually shot two versions of this scene, one with Sophia as a walker and one with her walking out alive like how everyone else wanted her to be but only one was chosen😭😭😭
Her walking out as a walker is better imo, the latter wouldn't have made much sense and there would be no emotional impact.
And they had shot the scene that Otis put Sophia in the barn, too bad they didn't keep it.
That would make no sense. How would she survive in there with the walkers? How would Glenn not have seen her when he went in before?

To the ones in the comment section that aren’t smart enough to figure it out. Shane at this point was the real leader of the group, rather you like him or not. Rick killing Sophia didn’t mean Shane couldn’t do it. Correct me if I’m wrong but Shane killed the most of the Walkers. I think Rick can kill a little Walker girl at that point. I mean the heavy lifting was done already Rick fanboys

I love how everyone reacts here, Carol running towards her daughter, Carl trying to come to his friend, Lori’s distraught face, Glenn’s shock, Andrea’s heartbreak, Rick’s shame but I actually love how Shane just...looks at Sophia before lowering his head in shame at him saying she was dead, he never intended for that. He still has his humanity. That’s why Rick had to be the one to shoot her, it was him who caused this to happen to her.
