From everything that has been said by Simo and the club, it went like this: Simo asked Pykey 'Im I going to be the coach in 2025' Pyke was honest and said no. So Simo said then Im done, I don want to be the coach anymore and put my family through the wringer of media scrutiny like I did in 2023. What's wrong with that? it came down to 2 guys being honest. And Simo is still going to get his full payout even though it's him who technacly does not have the right to stop coaching right now.

It was definitely time. A certain sadness to it. I know we haven’t been great the last few years but no one can forget the 14-20 era. But we need a fresh start. Good old Don, he went and wrecked Adelaide, now he has gutted West Coast. Six weeks ago the media were saying Clarko couldn’t coach North, now they are improving. Six weeks ago the media were saying the same about us. Simmo said at the time there would be ups and downs. Then we lost our mid field due to injury and report. Those players who leaked text messages to the press should be identified and sacked!!! The players have been disgraceful.

I am extremely disappointed with the mid season sacking after all they ( the board )backed him in to coach and then when some pressure came they folded and used their scape goat. Unless he truly had a say and said lets finish up now he should of got the chance to finish out the season as he deserved. So now everyone got their blood I demand if their is no turn around by seasons end more heads should also roll, under performing players , board members and assistant coaches should all be put under the same scrutiny and suffer the same fate. Yeah they haven’t treated him very well. Almost sacked him last year, then kept him, and then sacked him without finishing the season. We’ve seen growth, and good signs already, meaning he is a good coach. They could at least find a replacement before sacking Simpson, it feels like they’re reacting to the media

Im here as a roos 💙🤍🦘 fan who whos seen my fair share of bs in recent years with coaches ect but growing up loving and watching simmo play for the roos and have always had a soft sport for the eagles but im 2mins in so far(i shall finish it to watch simmo speak) but don pykes speech is just pissing me off and a complete fkin spit in simmos face poor showing here for the man that took yous to grannys and brang one home for yous and you can cleary see the discrepancy between what dons saying and simmos face reactions i hope simmo takes a well earned rest for awhile and id love to see him come back too the roos to coach with clarko and shove to the eagles... No offense to any eagles fans.. im sure your just as disappointed at how this has all played out for the great man.
