I'm disabled with mobility and strength issues, but I started BJJ 4 years ago. I love this channel because even with my limitations I can follow through with most throws. Thank you for the clear instruction and breakdowns. 🥋
After three months of break (because of the Corona virus) today we were allowed to train the first time "real judo with partner" in Bavaria, Germany. So I'm the happiest man on the planet right now. Travis, I just wanna say thank you. You have no idea, how much your videos helped me to make it through this difficult period. I trained a lot with your solo videos (uchikomi band, other excercises, etc) and I understand many things much better after watching your detailed technical breakdown videos. I really appriciate, what you do for us.
This is the best breakdown I've seen/heard on ippon seoi nage (in English). As a white belt who's been sucking pretty hard tbh, this video just gave me a huge confidence boost - suddenly I feel confident I could make this work after seeing it explained this way. Very grateful for this excellent resource, thank you!
thank you for the video, i started training judo last week as a 16 year old and i think with the dedication i have and the right discipline i think i can go for medals in 6 or 12 months
Can I use this technique to a taller and stronger opponent who uses uchi- Mata,o-goshi,ouchi- garai and also the opponent who is my size but stronger than me?
Any recommendations for the arm that comes through under uke's shoulder? I always end up over reaching with seoi nage and I lose control of that arm. In no gi, especially when I go for drop seoi, I end up losing the arm and giving my back.
@@TravisStevensgrappling one of my instructors suggested focusing on pinching the arm with my bicep and forearm as I enter and getting his shoulder to lift a little before finishing the throw. It's just been a coordination challenge and wondered if there might be a different way to tackle it

What is the meaning of the green, blue and red color on the thumbnails ? ( red = judo, blue = bjj ? )

Try to keep it pinned to your lat so there is little motion with it. Focus more on the shrug than the arm actually lifting up.
