I have some of the Chameleon stuff (the 17 foot whip, a hybrid mini transformer, end-fed wire and their ground spike) I didn't plan to buying Chameleon gear as it is so pricey but there was someone selling it unused on eBay UK so I snapped it up (I think I paid 130 quid for the lot). I wanted to add the Chameleon jaw mount but as you say it is very pricey so I use my SuperAntennas MP-1 mount thing currently. I read that the Alpha jaw mount has bad finishing, sharp edges etc. Is that true? I'm not sure if you've seen but there is even a third option (for the americans anyhow) called the "Stainless Steel Grabber CB Antenna Mount" which is only $24.99 - I wonder if any of the UK or European shops stock that one!
Some of the edges could be smoother but not enough to cut yourself on but I can gently sort them out with a file I'll mention this in the next video about the mount, I have thought about the chameleon and alpha antenna range but as you say there a bit expensive and I have a good range of portable antennas to play with.
@@2j4ez hi Jez, hopefully whatever I clamp it to will go to ground or work well enough for a counterpoise, thinking say farmers field gate, metal rail, park bench I've added a binding post if I need any radials.
Nice when do I pick it up 😉👍🏻
