No Kali Linux is just an operating system with tools and software already installed. I could do the same thing straight from my windows box I would just have to download and install nmap on my windows box. To save time and avoid reinstalling things again I use Kali.

Its not necessarily easier I have nmap on my windows box and I would have to run the exact same commands. Kali just comes with it installed.
