According to GoPro's website, which I've linked the information below, non-powered microphones will not work with the Quick Capture setting for whatever reason. I don't know what the issue is, but that combination is just not compatible with older GoPros. It is a hydraulic lift called QuickJack. I have the QuickJack 5000 which basically means it is rated to support 5000 lbs. One of the best garage tools I have ever invested in. I have had my set since 2017 and no problems to date.
