En la novela en la que se inspira el disco Flamenca (La protagonista) mata a su maltratador, y el amante se incrimina para que ella no entre a la carcel, por eso dice “lleva ya mi niño preso más de 400 días” (el tiempo que hace que saco el mal querer). Las melodías de esta canción son populares de Tangos (palo o ritmo flamenco) de un estilo muy concreto de la provincia de Granada, con estribillos de estilo “La Repompa” y “La Tia Concha Habichuela”, entre otros. The album was a story of a toxic relationship(malamente) and how he hits her(bagdad), and the album ends up with her killing the agresive boyfriend and going away with her lover. Her lover doesnt wants to see her in prison so he says that he killed the husband, and goes to jail for her. Thats why she loved him so much and wanted him out.

So yes, this is a flamenco genre called "Tango" (not related with argentinian tango), it has a very simple rythm, also it's a "Tango Taleguero" or "Tango Carcelero" (Literally "Jail's Tango") which it is a sub-type of topic inside flamenco. Also some believe this is the continuation of the "Mal Querer" album: Here, her husband who was mistreating her has been killed by her lover, so he's been imprisoned since then and that's why she desperately wants to take him out. If you learn spanish in Andalucía, you will understand all the accents in spanish. And although Rosalía didnt born here, she is using our accent to sing. Though I like "Con altura" I think that the best Rosalia is when she goes back to her roots in flamenco-style songs like this, or as "Aunque es de noche", "De Plata" and others. But I think she is clever and with songs like "Con altura" she has become widely known almost global, and now she can show the beauty and magic of flamenco to the world

People in Latinoamérica say the spaniards speak the fastest Spanish. Inside Spain, andalusians are famous because they speak the fastest spanish and its the hardest to understand inside our country. If you learn spanish in Andalucía, you will understand all the accents in spanish. And although Rosalía didnt born here, she is using our accent to sing. We dont say "para" "podido" "querías" , we say "pa" "podío" "quería'h". I hope it helps to you. Dont feel stupid guys. It happens to us too when we studied british english at school and then It had nothing to do with Usa music or movies.

You're right, the lyrics lose a lot of deep meaning when translated but that happens in most languages. Though the translation is correct, you won't feel it if you don't speak the language
