Would love to know what you think in a comment? GarageBand or Logic Pro? Let me know ↓
Thanks for this informative video, Charles.
One benefit of Logic Pro vs. GarageBand that you didn't mention is the possibility to save states of the program as screensets. I depend heavily on them when I'm mixing. To set up screensets and name them is about the first I do when I start a mixing session. All my mixes have a collection of screensets according to the following pattern:
1 - overview of tracks (zoomed to full length and height), 2 - mixer (on top of track window), 3 - project notes, 4 - editing (piano roll), 5 - recording, 6 - dynamic mix (automation), 7 - custom (for ad hoc uses).
When I'm mixing I can fast and easily move between overview, mixing and editing by simply pressing the numbers 1, 2 or 4. I finally lock the most crucial screensets, so I don't mess them up while doing changes (with a locked screenset you can do the temporary changes you want, but the screenset gets back to the initial state when you switch to it again).
That’s huge man!! I didn’t even know about this.
@@CharlesCleyn Nice! It also seems as some customised settings of control bar and display and also customisations of the track header are saved together with the screen set. Maybe this is also valid for customisations of channel strip components in the mixer (but I'm not quite sure of that yet, have to do some more experiments).
Thanks, I am watching UA-cam programs, its very help , thanks 👍
You're very welcome Robert
The sampler. GarageBand has a sampler but it’s very limited. You can only load sounds into it from
Audio files not from
Within the project itself. Additional there is no way to fix the length of the sample so as you play different notes the sample changes pitch snd length. Super frustrating. That alone made me want to upgrade lol
Good extra points there Rook!
How can I get a free Logic Pro full version life time Daw ? How can I find the hack version?
I recommend paying for it, you'll be happy because it won't crash as much as the cracked versions
You covered a lot of differences in that short video.
Thanks James, was it helpful? Do you prefer Logic or GarageBand?
@@CharlesCleyn I thought it was a short but good overview of many of the main differences between the two programs. If I can accomplish the goals of what I'm working on in GB then why not use it otherwise Logic Pro. i think the more one learns LP and gets familiar with it the less often they would choose to use GB though.
Wait, so you mean to tell me the obvious upgrade of a DAW is better than the first??
yes and I share context too :)
Hey my first daw is a garage band and logic pro seems so much better
It might be just the time to upgrade to Logic man? What do you think? Next week I'll post a video of why I think GarageBand is still a good option for beginners.
@@CharlesCleyn of course I've spent only a few months and I've wanted to go to abelton or pro tools but logic pro x is basically the big brother of garage band and I like it, also that circle around the mouse point how do you do that is that only I'm logic ??
