Agreed. Orton matches are the same thing for the last 10 years at least. Unfortunately, after a long career, he has so many signature moves that he has to get in, that's all there is tile for in every match, leading to the same shit.
Vince never understood Bray, titles were not success for him, changing people was. They needed to have him work with people who wanted to change their character, and have him be the vehicle of that change. He could haven taken the voices from Randy's head, taken control of Balor's demon, things like that.
The issue is Bray made his character "I cut promos for 2 months then squash you." He gained a reputation for failing to put people over, either by the Fiend, or being a nonsensical joke to the point feuding with him was a punishment. Brock refusing to work with him and Lashley no selling him legitimate mindbroke Bray. I say this as a fan of his. His character work no longer had a foot in the wrestling world anymore. WWE absolutely damaged him early on but he didn't do any favors for himself later on. Guy should just try and get into directing and writing.
All shortcoming are from decisions made by management. We already know about the bad booking in his previous runs, but I'll list what messed up his recent return. 1. He should've never been on a 2 hour smackdown where Bloodline Story gets given a lot of time. Raw would've been a better choice. 3 minute segments and teasers is not enough for a complex story 2. Repetitive locations and promos. Bray is only responsible for his lore, not the day to day decisions. It's been confirmed that he had a writer for his current run. 3. Even when they got back on track with the awesome LA Knight feud , WWE sold them out by forcing that Mountain Dew match. Triple H even bragged about the "1 million dollar sponsorship" Other than the Bloodline Story what doesn't WWE botch? They have a knack for being clueless on how to use creative characters. And they usually strike out with easy homeruns
@@SmoothSportsGaming WWE is initially responsable for what Bray is now, no question. However almost everyone who feuds with the guy has their career set back a year or two. The guy became a poisoned name that people with the ability to say "no" don't want to work with.

A lot of wrestlers like Lashley get exposed when they feud with Bray because he makes them look 1 dimensional. Most of them can't hang with his level of acting and storytelling. If anything, that feud helped Seth. He turned heel and went into a much better role after that. With that said, the HiAC outcome was not Bray's decision. Skip to his recent run, LA Knight came out a star after that feud. Even with WWE trying to bury both of them with that Mountain Dew match. The most annoying thing about this was for almost the entire wrestling year which is April-March, Smackdown had AJ Styles as their champ and Kevin Owens was champ on Raw. Wrestlemania was always seen as a sort of season finale of sorts were all the storylines would culminate and pay off. This Mania was by far the worst example of that because at Elimination Chamber and Fastlane which are right before Mania, both champs lost their belts to Bray and Goldberg and then their titles reigns were like a month in before the Mania season finale. And then they both lost their titles on that PPV so both reigns were completely meaningless 🙃

The biggest problem with this match and every other match these two ever had is that both Orton and Wyatt are very dependent on other great wrestlers to have a great match with (mostly Bryan or Cena), and even then it's hard to find regular singles match, no gimmicks no nothing, just two wrestlers having a match that either of these two had with anyone that was actually great, Bray with Bryan at Rumble '14 and Orton, honestly don't really know, HBK in 2007 (i love that match), but even then there was a stipulation where I think Sweet Chin Music was illegal But besides that, Orton and Wyatt never had chemistry in the ring, Orton is technically perfect but can't have a great match, he's just not capable of doing that, Gunther and AJ got some very good ones out of him but even then i wouldn't call those great And then there is Bray who everybody loves and he is so compelling and interesting and over, and then he goes out there and it just does not click, he is doing things but none of the things are as interesting as his character Really sad, I remember watching their match at like Backlash or Payback 2016 and it just stunk so bad, so i knew when they booked this match at Mania that it was going to stink as well, just like their feud in 2020 or whenever that happened with Bliss and fire and all, that was also really bad, and I would see so many people get so excited about their feud like they didn't just watch them shit the bed every other time they faced off Rip bray (kinda late for this video but yeah, been binging your guys' videos, awesome stuff)
Bray's drop off has much to do with Ambrose/Moxley but you all aren't ready for that convo😔 Actually, looking back at this Mania, it feels like both their programmes were originally meant to be with each other, but someone banned from them working together any more, so we got...this.
As a gimmick there’s just not enough steak - he’s a decent wrestler technically but his ideas (and they do seem to be his) don’t have much substance. The wheels came off this last time round when Lesnar refused to work with him
At first I said "if only they would let Bray be himself, it would be great!" Then Triple H let Bray be himself, and come up with his own story, and characters... and it was a diaster from the second he returned.
Orton v Wyatt is the most disappointing match I've ever watched. I'm expecting a coronation for one of Wrestling's most unique creative talents. Instead, there was spooky BS, yet ANOTHER unnecessary Orton title reign (see also 2020,) and Bray buried twelve feet deep.
Fell off when the Wyatt Family was axed and he became the Fiend. Horrible gimmick, horrible angle and horrible execution Rob Zombie would have found too clichéd and ham-fisted.
Thank you for being brave enough for saying this. Everyone loved it and I couldn't see it. There's no where to go with it. It's just a creepypasta brought to life.
The ONLY good thing The Fiend ever did was pose for that very first promo picture where the mask actually looks really good and you can’t see his unflattering circus pants.
@joshuaDstarks The Fiend was great! You guys are just hating it because it was popular.. I did not like it at first, but when I actually watched clips of the gimmick, it was pretty cool. I honestly prefer the Fiend over cult leader Bray. The problem was that Vince is an idiot. The Fiend was over but his momentum died during the feud with Seth and after he lost to Goldberg and Orton .the booking hurt Bray. Again.
@@zemox2534 I’m pretty sure I’m hating on it because they had the audacity to burn a guy “alive” in the middle of the ring. It’s straight up made-for-video.
@@zemox2534 The Wyatt Family was popular as well, so that can hardly be your argument here. The Firefly Funhouse segments where fun when they started. Everything outside of that was derivative, gimmicky wrestlecrap somewhere between Robocop helping Sting and Undertaker executing people with lightning. The worst part being that awful and downright insulting "cinematic" match against Cena.
WWE yet again wasted a another talent just like Enzo. Bray could of been as big as Taker. I went off Orton along with Edge and Cena with all we got was those three just going against each other for what felt like five years
Outside of his issues with everyone and his sloppy ring work, Enzo was so over it was insane. Who else do you know could go out there and have the entire crowd recite their promo? He was godly on the mic.
Bray will always be the fat guy got that got punted out of (Punks) The Nexus by Orton to me. After Bray lost the original family, the gimmick has become toxic to any opponent's cred.
0:55 Bray/Windham's looks are so confusing to me. He's obviously crusty and pasty and overweight and looks like a possum or some such creature you'd find rooting through bins in a Florida trailer-park. Not near Orton's league. But then occasionally he smiles or looks a certain way and you're like...hmmmm. Perhaps with enough shots. Think it's the eyes or the voice.
I think i must be the only person who doesn't mind HHH having long matches at Mania, he's a legend so beating him at Mania is a big deal for a rising star like Rollins was at the time.
He failed because he is a gimmick. Awful matches, feuds make no sense because the gimmick is completely illogical, and rambling promos that are meaningless and without substance.
Having main eventers for 15 years straight just shows how much worse WWF are than WCW ever were. Orton is an absolute charisma black hole and NEVER should have been a main eventer. Its like making Hardcore Holly a main eventer for two decades. There was a time that they could bury a talent like DDP and then for 20 years they rely on Orton 🤢 Stephanie's face when HHH spits the water over her was brilliant. Cant believe you didnt discuss it 😂😂😂 Making out it is a sexist thing why they cheered steph going through the table rather than because of her character and how much people rightly hated her is disgusting. Unsubbed.
When you hate women so much that someone disagreeing with you about sexism is "disgusting" and you unsub so you're never subjected to the notion again 😂. Even if you're objectively right that's a hilarious diva overreaction.
Bray Wyatt went wrong when they stopped calling him Husky Harris or Harrison, whatever, from NXT. Pure crap and lousy angles featuring technological gimmicks rather in ring adequacy. Bray has a couple of neat spots but that. is. all. The kid at 7:08 perfectly represents the character and story of Bray Wyatt (all all of pro wrestling from WWE/F since about 1988) to forever. Really sad, I remember watching their match at like Backlash or Payback 2016 and it just stunk so bad, so i knew when they booked this match at Mania that it was going to stink as well, just like their feud in 2020 or whenever that happened with Bliss and fire and all, that was also really bad, and I would see so many people get so excited about their feud like they didn't just watch them shit the bed every other time they faced off
Rip bray
(kinda late for this video but yeah, been binging your guys' videos, awesome stuff)
Vince?
Vince ruins everything
Bray's drop off has much to do with Ambrose/Moxley but you all aren't ready for that convo😔
Actually, looking back at this Mania, it feels like both their programmes were originally meant to be with each other, but someone banned from them working together any more, so we got...this.
Ambrose/Moxley?
@@markant9534 yes, he was very..let's say close with Wyndham
Big muscles make you gas quicker.
As a gimmick there’s just not enough steak - he’s a decent wrestler technically but his ideas (and they do seem to be his) don’t have much substance. The wheels came off this last time round when Lesnar refused to work with him
33 was better than 32. So it felt awesome half way through and then it hit me “this is mid”
Ha! The silhouette of Pitbull would look like the alien Roger from American Dad cartoon ! Except Roger could perform better and is more dynamic .
Really gonna miss bray wyatt.
Hey, HHH nose best.
He just passed away.
At first I said "if only they would let Bray be himself, it would be great!" Then Triple H let Bray be himself, and come up with his own story, and characters... and it was a diaster from the second he returned.
Every randy Orton match is boring
Orton v Wyatt is the most disappointing match I've ever watched. I'm expecting a coronation for one of Wrestling's most unique creative talents. Instead, there was spooky BS, yet ANOTHER unnecessary Orton title reign (see also 2020,) and Bray buried twelve feet deep.
Vince McMahon, John Cena, creative team (so called).....take your pick.
I just noticed in one frame that pitvull looks a lot like a bald miz
When bray debuted on Raw is when it all went downhill
Mtn dew match nuff said
Im totally a simp for Steph.
11:11 have never wanted to imagine Trips in a shagging scenario. cheer boys😕
The Fiend was over but his momentum died during the feud with Seth and after he lost to Goldberg and Orton
.the booking hurt Bray.
I’d rather watch any Orton match than anything the Wyatt’s are involved in. I hate that phony haunted house bullshit
Yenno I had completely forgotten about Husky and the Nexus. That's an old memory.
RIP
0:55 Bray/Windham's looks are so confusing to me. He's obviously crusty and pasty and overweight and looks like a possum or some such creature you'd find rooting through bins in a Florida trailer-park. Not near Orton's league. But then occasionally he smiles or looks a certain way and you're like...hmmmm. Perhaps with enough shots. Think it's the eyes or the voice.
I think i must be the only person who doesn't mind HHH having long matches at Mania, he's a legend so beating him at Mania is a big deal for a rising star like Rollins was at the time.
3:09 Big MAGAts...WWE's crowd basically
He failed because he is a gimmick. Awful matches, feuds make no sense because the gimmick is completely illogical, and rambling promos that are meaningless and without substance.
Having main eventers for 15 years straight just shows how much worse WWF are than WCW ever were. Orton is an absolute charisma black hole and NEVER should have been a main eventer. Its like making Hardcore Holly a main eventer for two decades. There was a time that they could bury a talent like DDP and then for 20 years they rely on Orton 🤢
Stephanie's face when HHH spits the water over her was brilliant. Cant believe you didnt discuss it 😂😂😂
Making out it is a sexist thing why they cheered steph going through the table rather than because of her character and how much people rightly hated her is disgusting. Unsubbed.
When you hate women so much that someone disagreeing with you about sexism is "disgusting" and you unsub so you're never subjected to the notion again 😂. Even if you're objectively right that's a hilarious diva overreaction.
Also balding men, with dreadlocks.. just screams juggalo...
Also pretty sure Rollins got the big push because he liked to send pics of his little weiner and Vince is a closet homosexual so there ya go.
11 out of 10 Schizo post.
@@TheGM-20XX jealous much?
@@jensjesfjeld6238 Yes. jealous of your ability to go from 0 to hobo on a subway train levels of crazy. you should be proud of that, shout it from the roof tops.
Ambrose/Moxley afaik is the non-straight SHIELD member. Back in the day it was said you could get him to do a lot for only a small hit of whatever substance.
@@TheGM-20XX i'm not the one telling others they're crazy. those of the actions of the feebleminded and weak willed. go away, sheeple. you're conformity is showing.
Bray's character work is good. His wrestling isn't. They seem to do too much character and never go anywhere with it and stretch it out.
Pitbulls performance was shite music with half naked sexy women around him lol
Cryptic for the sake of being cryptic. No substance. No in-ring talent.
Bray sucked from the start, never anything to say and took too long to say it.
I didn't particularly like Orton until seeing him at a house show. The man is a master of the craft and that is why wwe go back to him time and time again.
what went wrong with bray Wyatt is that he is annoying and extremely bland
He's just not a top guy plain and simple
This aged poorly
Yeah, they should have known he was going to die at some point during his life
@@ben7932 i knooooooooooow
I think there is nothing wrong with a negative opinion even if someone has passed away, you can't pretend to like something if you didnt
He was a bad wrestler, it's sad he died but still
5:59 proof again wrestle me is up aew's ass, they're shilling for the wrestler observer!
Grow up mate.
