Although Eugene was lying and that was wrong because people died to get him there, it was therapeutic for Abe to have a mission to follow. One that was larger than hinself. Hey it was fake but it gave him the "get up and go" motive to keep people alive. It kept Abe sane after He lost his wife and kids. Poor Abraham just wanted to be a protector, so He became an Apocalypse Daddy to a grown man with a mullet who talks funny. 🎉
