I wish Gibson would STOP putting the LR Baggs VTC in everything! An under saddle pickup inhibits the acoustic tone of the instrument, doesn't deliver a particularly authentic sound and many people have other preferences so, it's not really an advantage when you have to have it removed and replaced with, for example, a K&K.
100% completely agree with you. I fancy buying this Gibson Montana L-00 Original Sunburst model. I already have the Gibson Montana J-45 50's Original version and it is amazing - well, it was after I immediately got a luthier to install a much taller saddle in it, to raise the action. Now I have come to realise the LR Baggs pickup built in is not that great, compared to a few acoustics that I have K&K Pure Mini pickups installed in. So, I am just about to send the guitar back to my luthier to have the LR Baggs pickup system removed - and install a K&K pickup. Will need another replacement saddle though. I hope he can get that set as amazing as the first saddle he replaced. So, IF I go for the L-00 Original, I'll have to do the same for it too. Hmmmm. Wish you could opt to buy the guitar WITHOUT the LR Baggs pickup - and save some money in the process !
Very nice Gibson sounding guitar. Would fit with a lot of different types of music. Any idea of how it compare to an Iris OG? Nice guitar and demo. Thanks Joe.
I really want an L 00 but I don't like short scale small bodies........too me they seem lifeless......if they offered a 25 inch scale model I'm sold.....
Their higher end L-00 Vintage measure in at 25 on the nose. I have the "1932 L-00 Reissue" which is the same thing (from what I have seen anyway) as their L-00 "Vintage". I can hit it harder with a flat pick than my CEO-7 for sure. Definitely another level or two up in price, though. Gibson's reporting on specs for their non-standard guitars is dicey at best.
@@justinpaczkowski3585 - There is always the Gibson Montana 1934 Jumbo reissue ? That one has a 25" scale length. Obviously the 1934 Jumbo is bigger & deeper though - AND a lot more expensive ! (But it's lovely !!)

What’s the difference between the standard and original?

Great review. Could you ever do a L 00 vs Martin 000-18 comparison? Thank you. Trying to decided on which one of those 2 to buy.
I’d like to see that too
Nope
I'm having the same dilemma!! What did you end up going with?!
Do u still have this guitar?
love the info in your videos... like the shorter beard too!
For the blues hard to hit a L 00 Gibson. Great video btw
Love
It reminds me of the J 180
Finger print magnet 😂
I just play mine, I've never analysed it...
Wow, what’s it like being so much better than everyone else?
