Cam did the same thing when he had 3 offers and choose NE but people keep acting like the other 2 offers he got didnt come in when he got released, people just didnt want to trade for a player everyone knew Panthers could keep

Winston been solid and he was playing behind Bree's last year. Tampa Bay didn't have Gronk, AB, or Fournette and he still put up crazy numbers and guess what Arians changed the offense once Brady told him that shyt won't work. Had nothing to do with pride but that's the typical narrative for (certain type of QB's) you read between the lines.

This is the Jameis I was waiting for since he left FSU. Drew Brees was a perfect teacher and looks like it will pay off.
I certainly think that he won't be the last QB "bust" that will get a stellar second chance in the near future thanks to sitting some time behind a genuine star player. We already have evidence from the second preseason game that Mitch Trubisky could have a great career after sitting a year behind Josh Allen in Buffalo, and there's also the not-yet-finished story of Dwayne Haskins (who made the Steelers roster this year as the rookie QB3 despite the ugly breakdown of his career in Washington).
I don't know that we can credit Drew Brees for anything and it's only been one game, but I totally think Jameis best days are ahead of him. He got drafted by the Bucs and has been judged by a different standard than all other quarterbacks.

Me too I'm a Bucs fan and I was sad to see him go and get the hate even though he put up 5K yards in 2019. He just needed a change of coaching and scenery I think... I've got a little money on him as an MVP this year at insane odds.

Something tells me there are other reasons for the hate he gets.

When Sean Payton gets a QB, he knows what he's doing. He always has. He knew Winston had more potential and took him for a reason. Same for Bridgewater and Taysom Hill. When Brees was out, they won every game but one with a backup QB. Also, he saw something in Brees when nobody else wanted him.

BA tried the same thing on Brady until Brady changed him. By contrast, Sean Payton designs plays that work for the skills his QB has. BA tries to fit a square peg into a round hole, Peyton finds a hole to fit the peg he has. I'm thinkin BA isn't as good a coach as everyone thinks he his. I thought the game plan against Dallas was unimagininative.

Being able to watch and learn from Drew Brees for a year may be the best thing to happen to Jameis' career, apart from being drafted in the first place. He has the talent, just needed the mental aspect to be more commensurate.

Happy for Winston, he had a very rough start to his career but he's finally in a situation where he can thrive. Couldn't ask for a better play caller and the Saints are consistently a well-rounded team every year.
Tom Brady...and well...about half the leagues starters. This was an excellent game, but don't get carried away here. The Packers Defense is pathetic, but it was still a very promising showing for Winston. He still has to do it for at least half the season and against good defense for me to get on board with him being elite though, I want him to succeed but his decision making in game has to be proven over a much longer period than a single game.

The Packers got bullied in this game. Jameis had a really good game. The last time he was a starter, he went 30 for 30. Hopefully now that he got Lasik, he can show how talented he really is over the course of this season. He gave us a good performance today, hopefully he can continue with this fantastic form.

One was a prayer with pressure in his face so I’ll give him slack on that. The other was a perfectly placed ball if the defender doesn’t blow coverage and leave Johnson with miles of space. Other than that, had some accuracy issues for sure, but the biggest thing for me is no turnovers. As long as the Saints control the ball and take what’s given, they can win 12+ games with the way this defense (that isn’t even at 100% health mind you) played.
Drew Brees may be gone, but the Saints aren't going anywhere. The team is stacked. They're arguably more dangerous now.

I knew that when Brees left, the Saints would beef up by adding depth to their defense. They didn't disappoint. Winston still has a few things to work out, but overall he did pretty good.
He played smarter football. His accuracy was suspect at times but the fact of the matter is that he used his legs or threw the ball out when nothing was open. He used to try to make something happen through the air no matter what.

Just a shame they couldn’t beef up the defense for a prime Brees and by the time it became consistently serviceable, Brees was pretty much out of his prime.

A lot of people think the saints was gonna miss the playoffs bc we lost drew brees but this is not the saints that couldnt survive without drew brees. They built a great team that even a washed up drew brees was still able to have super bowl hopes last year.

I came back to this video as a saints fan after watching us get blown out by the bills at home I just missed seeing winston ball out he was the only reason we were 5-2 along w the defense before his injury it’s just been rough ever since he got injured now we’re probably the most injured team in the league only thing that’s bright abt this is our defense I just want next year to come already 😔
