Jarl Lillebø it would be extremely taxing on your vocal chords to belt it like that, and to do it with that sort of rough texture sound to it would add extra strain, and to have to maintain that for several verses would be really hard. And going from a soft voice to the sudden extreme belt with no build-up or lead up to it is kind of like a whiplash for your vocal chords. And imagine how he would've had to practice this several several times before recording this, and possibly had to do more than one try to get it right. All of that is extremely straining. You have to utilize special techniques to make it so you DON'T totally kill your voice, or take several breaks, but even then it's taxing.

I guess he over reacted but the truth is, while singing if you push your limits there is likely you get hurt in some ways physically. Like when you sneeze very hard your throath hurts and you get a slight headache because of body pressure. Imagine this happening continuously. Which happens to this guy while on high notes. Its not an easy songs. Even imagine dragons doesn't sing like that on live concerts. Because there is a possibility he can loose his voice.
