So nostalgic. Switchfoot is my all time favorite band, even if I don't listen to them a whole lot anymore, they'll always have the biggest place in my heart.
“Is this fiction? Is this fiction? Hope has given himself to the worst. Is this fiction or divine comedy? Where the last of the last finish first.” - Something about that still gets me every time. Impressive writing, to sum up in two lines the Gospel in its beauty, divisiveness and it’s ability to sweep away the foundations of your understanding of life and build them anew time after time after time.
Everyone has those 5 "changed my life" albums that are written in their Book of Life, and Learning to Breathe is one of mine! Helped shape my theology and spirituality during the time I "came of age" in high school and will refer back to this album into my 80s. To me, the songwriting lyrically and musically/sonically is soooo rich. To the ends of the earth Switchfoot!!
Hello guys, greetings, I listen to you from the country of El Salvador, since I was 15 years old, now I am 27 and every time I listen to them, it makes me lift my spirits and think as when I was 15 years old
Can somebody please explain the ending to me? I feel like something intentionally weird is going on, and I need to analyze the interference to find out what it is😂! By the way, I love this song AND this band, I just feel a little weirded out by the ending.
for me this song is a litttle paradox. It seems like an IDea. That Living is Simple because of faith. When you choose to life in the day. and when the "living is simple" is repeated over and over again.... It seems like get mixed with Tv News... and that the singer at the end leaves the room. It seems like a commentary that living is not that simple. And always insisting by repeating "living is simple" while not make it simple. It just leaves you dissapointed...
"Gravity isn't so hard."
Later: "OH, GRAVITY, WHY CAN'T WE SEEM TO KEEP IT TOGETHER?"

To the ends of the earth Switchfoot!!
Don't Be There, Under The Floor, Living is Simple, Twenty Four... man, Switchfoot knows how to close an album.
Where I Belong!
I just realised that those song titles rhyme
A theory: this song birthed many song ideas. How inspiring

Not many hardcore Switchfoot fans…
Switchfoot's older stuff isn't as popular, and the video was uploaded in 2015.

It seems like a commentary that living is not that simple.

Or maybe living is simple despite those things.
Living is simple, and we are distracted.
