@@Jb-db5kjyikes that mentality is what has the society built we have today. At some point it does need to change and the actions needs to be taken somewhere. Whether through social repercussion or real justice it’s gotta happen somewhere
lol yeah but none of that matters. People have thrown crazy allegations in previous rap beefs. This is no different. This is a little chronically online. You don’t have to be a savior, assume both sides are lying, and just enjoy the beef from a hip hop purist perspective.

One of the funniest things is that “Like that” which really kicked everything off was very mild in retrospect. It was Drake who decided to mention Kendrick’s wife by name in his response and Kendrick and that’s when everything really escalated. Kendrick even warned him about doing that but nope, Drake didn’t listen.

“What’s the Dirt” has a good vid from some months ago about why they hate each other. In short summary, the beginning of the downfall of their friendship was Drake feeling upset about his Control verse. Since then, there’s just been a series of subliminal disses thrown back and forth between the two up until now. One of the things that probably pissed Kendrick off was the fact that Drake would diss him, but then in public talk about how he loves Kendrick’s music and go to his shows and essentially pretend that he wants to rekindle their friendship.

This wasn’t a beef either, this was a calculated takedown by half the music industry which makes me believe that there’s some sort of legitimate reasoning behind doing so, it wasn’t a 20v1 for nothing

If anything this boosted Kendrick. The younger generation didn’t really know about Kendrick until this whole beef and the streaming numbers show. This definitely taints Drake’s image from a hip hop purist perspective but it won’t change much from a mainstream perspective.
@@wellthisisinteresting4912from a mainstream perspective I don’t think it’ll change much. Hip hop purists will view him differently but Drakes core audience don’t come from that category. This will definitely change how and who he collab with though. The internet forgets so give it a few months and everyone will forget.

The biggest thing Drake had going for him in terms of his music is that it was easy and digestable. Kendrick has made Drake not digestable and that is the best thing he could do. Drake will still have all his hardcore fans, but that's not why Drake did the numbers he has up till this point, it was because of his music being easy to listen to and to add to a playlist.
This was not a “complete beef breakdown” this was just “i think I think I think”
