The runner up doesn't necessarily do better than the winner, I mean look at Little Mix, James Arthur or Louisa Johnson, they all won their respective seri s and they've had much more success than the runners up. Tbh the only runners up I can think of that were more successful than the winner were JLS and Olly Murs.
