Thank you sa suggestion! I'm planning to have it replaced with STEK Nex series tint a month from now siguro.
Fuel consumption is still as good as when I bought it, but of course with proper maintenance. The car is still great to drive and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. Sulit pa rin!
Same sentiments on the low ground clearance. May light scratches na yung underside ng bumper namin, given na may matataas talagang ramp in the city area
Here are some figures based on my experience: Heavy traffic (Worst case scenario): 5.5-6.5 km/L Moderate traffic: 8-9km/L Slight traffic: 10km/L Average fuel consumption (Highway and City driving): Still at 12km/L Hope this helps
Thank you for the review sir. Did you have another vehicle na pinag isipan mo against sa civic before ka kumuha? Ako kasi si namimili between ford territory and eto.
Good question. My original choice was actually a Suzuki Jimny, but months have already passed and the color and variant that I wanted was still out of stock (and I was after the low interest rate promo of BPI at that time) so I suddenly went to a showroom to check the new Civic and placed a reservation immediately and re-applied my loan (though I made sure they still had the Platinum White Pearl for the S variant because that would be my only option) I didn't consider the Territory because I always wanted a fun sedan to drive and of course, it's a Civic 😉 (and also, I personally don't trust Ford's reliability)
Hi, really love the review! I have the same model and variant and may I ask how you turn off the speed alarm? Mine keeps going off when reaching 85kph. Would really appreciate your help. Thanks!
Thanks! I’m not familiar with the speed alarm though you can probably refer to the manual. I (sometimes) reach 120-130kph and I don’t get any alarms for it.
Good question. Yes, the aircon reaches the passengers at the backseat easily. The tint is also a factor though (I have medium tint currently installed) I always tend to ask backseat passengers if it’s cool on their side. They always seem to be contented with the temperature.
Hi! I got my OR/CR around 5-6 weeks after release. If you’re interested about the license plate, the dealership still hasn’t issued it until now and I’ve had the car for 6 months already.
Thanks! IMO, you really can't go wrong with those 2 choices. At first, I was also just planning to get a City RS but then the chance came to own a Civic so I went for it. I think here are some factors that you can consider: 1.) How comfortable are you when you're behind the wheel? Does this car speak to me? (Better if you get a chance to sit in both of your choices when you visit a showroom) 2.) How spacious do I want my cabin to be, including trunk space. 3.) Do I go for a tried and tested generation vs a new one? 4.) Will it matter to you to pay for the more premium 1.5L Turbo with Honda Sensing or are you just satisfied with the very reliable City that will always get you from point A to point B? I'd say go for the Civic, but it's still up to you. Headturner pa siya. Haha. Hope this helps.
Also my dilemma, but went for the civic and had no regrets. I test drove the city hatchback and I was sure then that Its the car for me, but when I saw the civic at the showroom and saw the interior it changed my mind. The interior is so elegant and spacious, even if the City has all the LEDs, leather seats and leather wrapped steering wheel the S variant still looks more refined. My advise is visit a dealer and sit behind the wheel of both cars and then decide.
Thanks! This is a really good question. For the Altis, medyo nakukulangan ako sa power and it does not really appeal to me. It’s a different story for the Mazda 3. I actually also considered it as one of my choices. The premium quality of both the exterior and the interior is definitely an eye-catcher, along with its great engine. But it also comes with a more expensive price tag, even for the base variant. As mentioned in the video, I used to have a 2007 Mazda 3. The mechanic that I used to regularly go to used to work at a Mazda dealership. Relatively, the parts are expensive when you need to have them replaced. I can also confirm this since I actively read posts on the Mazda 3 Philippines FB group. That was also the case with my old car, considering it’s a 2007 model. This is one of the things that I considered if I were to choose the Mazda 3. I could be wrong but I don’t think I’ve read or encountered any major issues with the Civics in general (apart from the EPS gearbox issue in the previous generation although it was covered by the warranty). And a Civic is a Civic. If I were to compare the base variants of both the 2022 Mazda 3 and 2022 Civic for the features (Honda Sensing was the gamechanger for me), engine and suspension setup along with the price tag (1.29m for the Civic and 1.5m for the Mazda 3 Sportback because I wanted the Sportback version lol), I think the clear winner is the 2022 Civic. This is just my perspective but I hope this helps answer your question.
Very nice review sir. Detailed enough! Question lang sir,... Do you think if i buy The RS version and i decided to put medium dark tint like yours, do you think i can see better because it is Led in the RS?
Thanks! To answer your question, you probably would be able to see better but not by much. I think it would be better if you invest in better tint (I’m planning to change my tint to STEK NEX series tint which will cost around 20k. The one installed in mine currently is Platinum from which came as a freebie from the dealership) If you’re gonna buy the V or RS variant and one of the crucial features for you are the LED headlights, I don’t think the price difference is justifiable (in my opinion), but to each his own.
Unfortunately, there aren’t any parking sensors for this variant. Tight spaces are a challenge sometimes so you just have to get used to its dimensions. It’s a lot more wider than the usual sedan
Sir, consider peeling off the windshield tint. Ako kasi Malagian ako sa tagaytay ng hating gabi. kahit malakas na ung LED light ko, there are many things na d mo tlga makita pag may tint ang windshield, kahit pa medium lang. yun nga lang, sa tanghaling tapat, asahan nyong mainit sa harapan.
I agree. Although I’ll probably just invest in the more expensive tint just so I could keep it dark outside while being clear from the inside (Planning to have the STEK NEX series tint which will cost around 20k). I work the night shift and while I do agree about the tint darkness, nasanay na lang rin ako during my drives going to the office.

Yup.
Tapos Black like RS panalo.
Thanks! I'd say go for the 2022 Civic but that's just my opinion. Bukod sa mga nasabi ko na gusto ko sa kotseng to, mataas din yung "smiles per miles" 😅 definitely worth it for me.
@@ralphbarcos Actually yun din first choice ko. Kung iisipin in the long run panalo talaga kapag bnew unit. Deal breaker lang talaga for me yung tail lights di ko talaga mapusuan hahah! Anw, are you planning to modify your car in the future? White body color looks good in black rims!
Unfortunately no. The longer I drove it, nasanay na rin ako sa buga ng current headlights kaya nawala na rin sa isip ko magtanong but probably on my next PMS this June, I’ll ask the agents.
As far as I know, walang setting para mabago yung sensitivity. I’ve read in a comment in this video na merong ganun for USDM Civics but none for the PHDM ones for some reason.
Great review sir, we are also considering this variant of the civic. You didn’t mention anything about its AC, how was it? Does it provide enough cooling to the rear seats, given the absence of rear vents? Thank you!
Good question! Yes, the AC is cold and enough for daily use. I’ve had passengers multiple times and I keep asking them if it is cool at the back (this was my way of justifying not picking the variants that have the rear vents. I was only doing this probably for the first 2-3 weeks of owning the car)
@@marvinjaymonteroso4910 My perspective is that if you've driven a car before that doesn't have any of those additional features and you're able to live with it, then go with the S variant. But if you really want additional toys, go with the V. I've been driving the car for 2 months already and the only thing that I wish I had that comes with the V and RS variants are the LED headlights but these can be done with aftermarket parts. Overall, the S variant fits all of my needs and I'm very happy with it. Good luck on your future purchase!
Another thing that disturbs me as much as you do is the ride height. Have you driven the car at capacity? Given how long its wheelbase is, I am worried of the rear sagging under weight.
@@marvinjaymonteroso4910 Yes I have. 4 people including me and the longest I've travelled with this many passengers was a trip to Tagaytay. There is some noticeable sag, which is normal, but not to the point wherein the ride height will be too compromised. The ride comfort is still great. Humps are also not a problem for the car (or atleast for the roads I've driven on with 3 or more passengers)
I was planning on having a test drive for a Mazda 3 but didn’t push through because I was already satisfied when I got the chance to check this new Civic.
Yes!
@@ralphbarcos sana may way para i off yung automatic hadlight or i adjust sensitivity. Yung US spec na civic may adjustment, pero satin wala. Musta pala NVH sa express way? Mejo may road noise kasi siya.
@@rlc2871 I agree. There's no absolute way to turn the lights off, which is kind of a bummer pero I think it's because some other countries have it as a safety feature para wala nang dahilan para makalimutan buksan pag gabi. For the NVH, it doesn't really matter much to me for this car. I always have loud music on so di ko na rin napapansin. 😅
Sabi nila, ang matic daw madaling masira ang transmission kung mag chachange ka bgla from “drive”, mas advisable daw na mag change gear kapag from park. Since nasa transmision ang sports mode nya (sa rs kasi may separate button to change to sports mode) di kaya mabilis masira ang transmission nya kung madalas kang mag change sa sports mode?
I don't think so. I think it's also designed for the driver to shift between D and S whenever they like. You're not really changing gears, but how responsive the CVT will be. So gagana siya as you would with a sports mode button.
Can’t confirm is this can be done but my opinion is that I think it is possible. And also for sure, there’ll be a lot of aftermarket headlights for this generation of Civic in the near future.
Try running it on Econ mode pag nasa city lang or heavy traffic then just deactivate it pag nasa highway or nakaluwag na sa traffic.
Thanks for this info! I was hesitant at first to list that down as I thought I was the only one experiencing it and I just have an old phone. It turns out issue pala talaga siya. Meron kayang magiging recall? 🤔
@@ralphbarcos I doubt there would be a recall, but I might ask my dealer soon if they are aware of the issue and if they have a known fix. Sabi sa google naayos daw ng ibang users by using the original cable that came with their phone or a high speed cable (i.e. 5gpbs transfer). I might try the high speed cable soon if maaayos niya. I tried using Apple CarPlay at wala naman naging issue even though its an OEM cable at ginalaw galaw ko young cable, hindi siya na di-disconnect, so it seems like it really is an Android issue.

Yup.
Tapos Black like RS panalo.
Awesome review sir. I'm torn between these 3 cars; Civic 2022 S, City RS, and 2nd hand 10th Gen Civic FC RS. Keep safe!
In the future, definitely yes! Pero after warranty na siguro. I'll get the stock RS mags if anyone puts them up for sale and coilovers once kailangan na palitan ang shocks.
Aftermarket LED headlight bulbs na rin siguro and foglights since this variant doesn't have them
@@ralphbarcos That Vtec Turbo badge is really plus 10hp hahah! When I saw it sa casa napa kudos to Honda ko dun sa badge na yon.
Interesting upgrades in the future! I saw one sa fb market place. 45k ata asking price.
I will give myself some more time to think.
Good luck and ride safe bro 🙌

Unfortunately no. The longer I drove it, nasanay na rin ako sa buga ng current headlights kaya nawala na rin sa isip ko magtanong but probably on my next PMS this June, I’ll ask the agents.
I don't know so I can't confirm with this one.
As far as I know, walang setting para mabago yung sensitivity. I’ve read in a comment in this video na merong ganun for USDM Civics but none for the PHDM ones for some reason.
@@ralphbarcos sa higher variants po meron
Great review sir, we are also considering this variant of the civic. You didn’t mention anything about its AC, how was it? Does it provide enough cooling to the rear seats, given the absence of rear vents? Thank you!
Good question! Yes, the AC is cold and enough for daily use. I’ve had passengers multiple times and I keep asking them if it is cool at the back (this was my way of justifying not picking the variants that have the rear vents. I was only doing this probably for the first 2-3 weeks of owning the car)
Thanks! I am contemplating if the ₱200,000+ premium of the V variant is justifiable enough to get a few toys over the S.
Humps are also not a problem for the car (or atleast for the roads I've driven on with 3 or more passengers)
nag test drive ka sir mazda 3 before mo kinuha civic?
I was planning on having a test drive for a Mazda 3 but didn’t push through because I was already satisfied when I got the chance to check this new Civic.
Kumusta po ang oil consumption? May na-observe po ba kayo na potential oil dilution issue? Would be very interesting to know.
@AJ RV how is the oil consumption po? Manageable naman?
Na notice mo ba na masyadong sensitive yung automatic headlights niya? Nag on agad siya kahit maliwanag pa. Also an owner here
Yes, sensitive ng auto headlights. Just a normal cloudy sky will turn on those headlights
@@ralphbarcos Pag naka off ba sa stalk nag auto-on pa rin headlights?
the powerfolding side mirrors should be standard in any variant of civic. a 900+k budget crossover has a powerfolding side mirrors. wake up honda pls.
I agree with this statement. 👍
feel ko lang masyadong sensitive you auto lights niya kahit morning may ilaw mabilis maubos batter
I agree.

Sir nakapag lagay kanaba foglights?
Not yet. I might finish the warranty first before I do install any electrical aftermarket stuff.
Safe kaya palitan yung tires from 16inch to 18inch?
If you mean the wheels, then yes, it is safe. The RS variant has 18s on them after all.
@@ralphbarcos Ayos, btw does the s trim have the low speed follow?
@@valdomerotimoteo4335 yes it does, while in cruise control. I think all Honda sensing features are the same across all variants
@@ralphbarcos Then this variant is perfect, has the core features that one needs with lots of room for upgrades hehehe. Thanks for answering.

As per the owner’s manual, every 2 years or every 40000kms. Whichever comes first. As for how much, I don’t have any idea yet.
good afternoon ask ko lng po if yung S mode may +- tnx
Hi! The Civic S doesn't have manual mode but the RS does have paddle shifters
Same ba tayo sir?
Try running it on Econ mode pag nasa city lang or heavy traffic then just deactivate it pag nasa highway or nakaluwag na sa traffic.

I have the same issue with my Civic 2022 V Variant.
