I convinced my wife to let us use the beginning and end for our precession/walk in music at our wedding. Best decision ever. We have an NFL connection. She is a huge Green Bay Packer fan and I am a die hard Dallas Cowboys fan. This music came out for the 75th Anniversary Season of 1994, the only year in the four year span the Cowboys didn’t go to or win the Super Bowl. Instead it’s featured heavily in Super Bowl XXIX’s highlight package, which of course the 49ers won; the same 49ers that beat the Cowboys in the NFC Championship Game which the Cowboys more lost than the 9ers won. Even though in retrospect I am glad Steve Young got to win a Super Bowen because he is a good person, that one stings way more than the other three Super Bowls the Cowboys won felt good. The one that got away. I used to associate this music with the failure of the Cowboys that year, but now that it was our walk up music, I associate it with the greatest moment of my life. Than you honey!
I’m 35 now. I vividly remember getting that trailer sent to me on VHS. Found this song about 4 years ago, and I once again have been proven. I’m never the only one.
This song means so much to me, reminds me of childhood days watching thanksgiving games and playing with my friends, watching my Super Bowl VHS tapes over and over, dreaming of being an NFL star one day... Limitless dreams back then. Thanks Tom for this suite!
hey luke, seeing this 6 years later, but I am an unknown writer and one of my themes in a pilot I wrote was, NO ONE DREAMS ANYMORE. (The reason why is bc no one teaches it.) Gawd, did I have a great childhood, sounds like you did too. Now the world has gone into a gigantic toilet.
I had the honor of Mr. Hedden answering an email from me. I thanked him for his excellent musical orchestrations, and he was very and cordial and enjoyed hearing from a fan. He even gave me the heads-up on his next project. This gentleman is a true musical inspirational giant and also a good person. Thanks Mr. Heddon.
I close my eyes, listen to this music and see visions of commercials for Hagar slacks, and the Purple People Eaters breathing smoke, Gayle Sayers hurdling tacklers, Mac Percival booting a long field goal and Larry Wilson returning an interception.... all in slow motion
I searched for this song for A DECADE after hearing it in that Hot Newz 64 tape. I still consider it an unofficial part of the JFG soundtrack. It's fantastic.
@@chadm1513 Exact same feeling here. Got a VHS with a Nintendo magazine in France in hte 90s and I've been looking for it for ages as for me it's also all about Jet Force Gemini. :)
HBO began using bits and pieces from this ensemble for it World Championship Boxing and PPV telecasts during the late 90s to early 2000s. It's always stuck out to me and I've been searching for years. So glad someone finally lead me to this. There's more here to unpack then even I realized.
I remember hearing this song play at the end of the Chicago Bulls 97-98 season documentary Unforgettabulls and just now with the NFL's tribute to Dick Butkus.
As a Vikings fan, it's been pretty much nothing but misery, upsets, and disappoint year after year even with such explosive talent and fantastic moments in history. Yet, this piece is so moving. Football is a game, but with that comes culture, stories, and long lasting memories that millions bond over whether within fanbases or with rivals.
This has been a presentation of Fox Sports, home to the MLB All-Star Game, the American League Championship Series and the World Series. America’s grand game is on Fox.
This year's biggest events are on Fox Sports...... the Daytona 500, the World Series and in February Super Bowl XXXIX. Fox Sports celebrating 10 years of excellence
10:22 when you stroll up to the house with Jinxie Cat after he’s been missing for several days and everyone is looking for him and Thanksgiving is saved because of you
I listen to this, with my eyes closed and I can see Tom Brady diving into the endzone in 4 inches of snow and spiking the ball as he falls. That day a legend was born and a dynasty, what do you guys see when you hear this?
UA-cam has taken down some of my other videos and also reworked the views as all these vids at some point exceeded 20,000 views each (classic battle, chilling championship (original), and this one had exceeded 150,000).
It’s started out with a few men who threw around a pig skin as the year went on the game grew and evolved . But let’s not forget it’s humble beginnings for we owe it to the likes of Halas Nagurski Thorpe grange. As the time changed so did the game big better faster . Heroes covered in mud catching a long fly pass going 10 to 50 yards quarterbacks who threw so high and so fast there was a blink of an eye touchdown, the thrill of victory, and the agony of defeat
The NFL is back!!!! I could have sworn part of this song was used as the intro to a video game I have played... but I'll be damned if I can remember which one.
0:00-2:19 offseason. The season is over and now its time to prepare for next season. time to get free agents, scout collage players, manage staff, etc. all ending with the draft...an event that may turn a franchise into a juggernaut 2:19-5:00 preseason. now that you have signed your draft picks, this is your chance to see if you drafted good or bad players with 3 games that do not count twords the road to the super bowl. This is also a chance to get your starters warmed up for the next season. remember, records don't mean anything. 5:00-9:51-regular season. Now its time. no more bs, its time. the games now count, rosters are now finalized, this is the moment. win as much as possible to claim your division, and a spot in the playoffs. Impress your fans, make road fans mad, this is the time to see who is the best. 9:51-12:34 the entire postseason(Superbowl included) you impressed in the regular season, but its not over yet. one loss=your done for the season. this is the best of the best, now to see who can win it all, and take the Lombardi trophy
dope narration! Though I 5:00 "Finding Daylight" gives me "We're almost to the big game, one last hurdle in our way! PLOW RIGHT THROUGH THEM, MEN! Let's run this pigskin right down their throats!"

I know I might be going crazy, but I could have sworn that there was a guitar version of this somewhere... Yet when I search for this song using any of the available engines, I turn up with nothing. Might be a copyright problem (censoring any searches deemed to be up to "nefarious intentions" like posting an mp3... WHY?)

I can honestly say that i grew up listening to Tom Hedden and David Robidoux. NFL Films was a special place.
R.I.P to the one and only legendary linebacker in nfl history most feared tacklers in Dick Butkus of the Chicago Bears

Packers own the cowboys
Sounds like a great song to play at a wedding
This CD box set is the best. RIP Ed and Steve Sabol, John Facenda and Sam Spence.
This is definitely the best Sports music ever comprised to represent years of the NFL .
This song was in Rareware's N64 game Jet Force Gemini's trailer back in 1997/1998 :)
I’m 35 now. I vividly remember getting that trailer sent to me on VHS. Found this song about 4 years ago, and I once again have been proven. I’m never the only one.
2:31 is where the jet force trailer begins

When I was in high school, I used to listen to this on my iPod on the bus on my way to school. Hearing this brings me back to happier times.
To me, this is the theme of NFL history.
Agreed!

im there bro \m/
The first time I heard this was last year in february, and I already feel a LOT of nostalgia. How is that even possible?!!
First heard this in the 90s from a Nintendo Power VHS I received in the mail. It previewed Jet Force Gemini and Donkey Kong 64.
I only see jet force when I listen to this no football.
I searched for this song for A DECADE after hearing it in that Hot Newz 64 tape. I still consider it an unofficial part of the JFG soundtrack. It's fantastic.

I’m going to cry . 75 years of nfl in 1994. . I’ve watched this over and over as kid
RIP Steve Sabol. This should be played at his memorial.
I'm always exploring new music, but something about this pieces always has me coming back. It's just so perfectly well done.
Can't even begin to explain how fun it is to play in orchestra
Agreed. I miss playing in an orchestra very much. I played viola and some violin.

2:31 the music used for the Trailer for Jet Force Gemini in the Hotnewz 64 promo VHS
Holy shit…. I thought I was the only one who remembered this. I remember getting that VHS in the mail. I’m 35 now.
RIP Steve Sabol!!
4:17 is the best part, formerly used as FOX Sports ID and also on the commercials for that old ESPN MVP Verizon phone
