As someone new to working with floetrol, your channel has been a lifesaver. Amazing information delivered in a calm, very easy to understand manner.
You should keep the content coming! These were the best tutorials i've seen on different dye types!
Going to try delivering weekly content, we'll see if I can keep up
@@LilbotDiscGolf that would be great! I did the chameleon cell dye from your video and it turned out great so I want to follow more of your designs for my bag haha
Nice work man, clearly art you've given some trial and error. Looks so good and thanks for sharing your trade secrets!
This is amazing! I tried doing this on my own a couple weeks ago and it came out wonky. Because of this, I know to do silicone on the red and not the yellow! THANK YOU!!! :)
SO AWESOME!!!
Thank you for doing this tutorial bro!
Thanks for the inspiration
Great video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge with the dyeing community!!
Awesome video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge!!
Looks great
Awesome Job Rob! Thanks for the informative video!
Another great video tutorual and dye job!
Thanks I didn't wanna start cells till I was sure how to reuse cheers and thanks man
great videos, i just recommended them to someone on reddit having trouble with this exact style of dyeing so i hope this helps him and it definitely helped me😁
You're a beast! Thank you for doing these videos, they're awesome!!!
Glad you like them!
holy crap you are amazing for sharing, i love all of these videos!!!
Thank you so much!!
Nice work
Loving your videos brother. Been using rit dye for a year so. Finally got some pro chem, and after a few of your videos people are impressed. Thank you! I hope one day I can hit your level of consistency.
Fucking sick man, I’ve just gotten into disc dying and this has given me something new and challenging to try!
WOWWW❤
Frickin radical
Thanks for flexing on all us newbs.
Do the same thing but reverse the stencil so the tree and basket are white.
Amazing disc! What watt bulb do you use for the lamp?
You should cut your saranwrap roll to your desired width so you don’t have to always make that awkward second cut
That is a great idea
Been going crazy over how amazing your videos are!! Love the content as i have just recently gotten into disc golf dyeing. I do have a question though, what ratio do you typically use for your floetrol+pro chem dye?
How much silicone do you add to your dye?
Great video! Where did you get that Saran Wrap cutter from, though!?? Seems like a game changer
take a razor blade to the roll of plastic while on the roll, cut deep. You wont have to cut the width down each time. Viscosity, surface tension and specific gravity at work. Thanks for the vid...
Great tip!
Thank you so much for the video. Love the work you do and your videos have helped me progress in my dyeing skills.
Question: I have a problem sometimes after using the bed once with silicone in the bed not allowing me to effectively use the bed again for another chameleon dye. How do get a bed ready for another chameleon dye after the first. I would love a video on this. Thanks!
Love to hear that. If you want to get rid of the residual silicone you can lay a paper towel on top of the bed, let it soak up some floetrol and when you pull it off it should take most of the residual silicone with it
No silicone intentionally added to the pan dyes beforehand, right? I know it was used, not sure what that means and want to do this from scratch.
Awesome stuff!!
I don’t have Instagram…but can you consider me for the giveaway? That disc is sooo sweet! Beautiful work! 👏👏👍👍
I watched video on the 1st dye in pan the crave with each time using do you reswipe with another coat of black?
Excited to start this type of dye. In my past glue bed dyes I use a seeding mat for heat because I dye inside when it's below 70 outside. With a cell dye do I need a heat lamp over top or do you think a seeding mat underneath is okay?
I definitely recommend a heat lamp instead of a mat. Check out the latest video on heating cell bed for more info
If i were to mix a 6oz bottle up, how much silicone oil should i add?
Great video, sometimes when i add swipe colors they sink? Any advice do i need to warm up both the bed and solution ?
Pinks and some blues tend to sink sometimes. You can try warming them up and it will help them sink less
How long do I need to leave under heat lamp doing the same exact procedure? Is 3 hours too long?
How far above would you say you have your heat lamp? Like what temperature do you try and keep the disc at?
Not OP but I believe in another video he said it's a 250w lamp and he's found 18 inches to be the best distance (my understanding is 110 degrees is the ideal temp). Take that with a grain of salt though as I've just started working with floetrol.
At the end you said it was blurry because the pan was shallow. What do you mean by that?
I’m new to disc golf and just got interested in dyeing. What kind of dyes? Is that what was in the pan too?
This is done with Floetrol. I should probably mention that somewhere!
This channel has been super fun to find and learn from! I've had some success with chameleon cells (amazing tutorials btw!) but whenever I try the lava cells, the red doesn't make big web cells. I don't know if maybe using the 3 in 1 Silicone is the wrong oil for mixing? Or if I put too much silicone in the red? Any suggestions as to why the cells are super small after the red swipe and even after heating?
Get some silicone oil for acrylic pouring. 3 in 1 is not good for lava cells
@@LilbotDiscGolf brilliant thanks!
Great videos my man! How much silicon oil do you add to get your sick cell dyes?
3 drops per 8 oz of floetrol
@@LilbotDiscGolf thank you for your response. That will help the ratios of my dye mix moving forward.
Hello Rob. For how long should i leave the disc in the bed if i don’t have a heatlamp? Love Your videos
12-24 Hours but the results will be blurry
@@LilbotDiscGolf
So you’re saying i should get a heatlamp??😂😂
Fairly new to dying here. When you say the red had silicone added are you referring to floetrol or should i use something else.
Yes floetrol
how muc silicone do you put in a bottle that large?
about 1 drop per ounce, but you can probably do less
If you don't have a heat lamp can you just heat the bed with only a torch? And does leaving it in the bed longer ( like 24 hours) make up for not having a heat lamp?
Dont heat your bed with a torch. You can leave it in longer if you dont have a lamp but it will lose some definition and wont have the same saturation
How can I get ahold of you? What is ur price to dye a couple discs?
What vinyl and transfer paper?
Oracal 651 is good and contact paper is fine for transfering
How much silicon is mixed into the red?
From Rob:
@LilbotDiscGolf
about 1 drop per ounce, but you can probably do less
Thank you!!
Why don't you put silicon in all the dyes?
Are you really only leaving the disc in the bed for 70 minutes? Why do mine take 24 hours?
Prob because of heat? Heated floetrol beds don't need as much time as f.ex. a lotion bed
def entered the giveaway on WaveSoGroovy, thanks for the opportunity bro
You're welcome! Good luck
