Cheers. Yes it is technically road legal-although owner never uses it on road. It was originally a Gt3RS but previous owner had stripped it down completely and turned it into a Cup Car. Ironically of course GT3RS's are now more expensive than Cup cars!
@@realstradman theres a 996GT3RS with 3k miles on sale right now for 214k! Crazy! I'm going to Zandvoort with my 997 GT3 this Friday. Really looking forward to it. Any tips for me?
First time? You'll love it. Its like a mini Spa and feels like a rollercoaster! Like any circuit, taking the right line is key so try to spend some time doing this(youtube helps-although you can't quite assess the camber and elevation changes from video) Useful to have an instructor for a half or one hour too. Reasonably heavy on the brakes so make sure pads are healthy. What tyres you running on GT3? Cup 2's presumably?is it gen 1 or 2? 2 corners that need a bit of practice are Schievlak and the last corner before the final straight-which will depend on how you take the previous corner. Have a fun though and stay safe!
Stradman two drastically different lines between you two that is for sure. He late apexed a lot. I don’t know the track that’s for sure but I’ve yet to be on a track where early apex and tracking around the curve right was the fast line.
@@leoahearn7382 Definitely different lines I agree, and in the end of course it all swings about in roundabouts. You make some time one way and lose a bit elsewhere. However I can tell you that at Zandvoort, as far as I know, as well as having talked to a few people who know circuit, I am not aware of any 996 GT3 road car(remember I'm not a Cup car) having done anything remotely close to a 1:54 on slicks. Of course always happy to see any evidence of the contrary, so my lines must be doing something right. Not saying perhaps there might not be more, but damn if I gain anymore than that I would be Cup Car fast and that does seem correct or even possible. Having said Zandvoort has now changed since last year and I will be visiting the new circuit again in 3 weeks so stay tuned!
Nice driving..
Well driven 👍
Cheers mate! Happy Christmas!
Nice watch. Great driving! Is that CUP car road legal?! Just going off the fact its wearing number plates?

@@realstradman thank you! Yes, CUP2s. I certainly will. Will be watching your video a few time more before I leave on Friday :)
Is that a real cup car or a GT3 with cup car bumpers and aero? It also looks like that car has plates on it
Started off as 996 gt3rs but converted faithfully to Cup car
@@realstradman either way great driving!!
Two words for you - LATE APEX. As the guy in front was doing.
Nah. I was faster than him if it wasn't for the 300kg differential....
