I really miss her because she was a literal classic and born in a generation where people were more respectful. She made her last movie and last perfomance in the 1994 movie "One Christmas". I have just watched 'THE LION IN WINTER' where Katherine plays the part of Eleanor of Aquitaine, opposite the brilliant Peter O'Toole as Henry Plantagenet. This film is a must see for everyone.
She was my favorite growing up. I even painted her portrait in high school art class. I was born in 65, but to me, she was a contemporary, because her movies were always on television on the weekends.
I became a big fan after seeing Bringing Up Baby in 1981. I have every movie I could find and magazine articles and books about her. She is my role model. I even named my beagle Spencer. 🙂
I get a feeling from Hepburn as I do from Joni Mitchell and Joan Didion. These were all trailblazers who faced the difficulties of life intelligently and somewhat fearlessly. They were intelligent enough to always be lifelong learners and seekers. They all were creative and able to leave a lifetime of work to reflect the lives and times they lived in.

There are a lot of things that I love about this interview. Hepburn fans interpret her assuredness as being confident in being right about things....basically everything. Here she demonstrates the complete opposite. She's stubborn about things but has no idea whatsoever if she's right or not. I love that candor and confession. It's ok to be unsure about something, but be strong in your convictions and don't force them on others. People were always asking for her opinion. She didn't put her opinion out there ever without being asked. People were constantly hounding her for interviews and quotes and then playing the gotcha game afterwards. She famously said that she looks forward to dying so she wouldn't have to be interviewed anymore. LOL. Legend!
She was the inventer of the complex person. I see perhaps 20% of the true Heoburn is revealed here. She never let anyone know her except her inner circle. I disagree with somethings she choose in her life, but then I'm not her. I saw her with Christopher Reeve in "Matter of Gravity" and I was just thrilled to see her. I was in a cheap seat cause I drove with a friend at the last minute to her play. I just watched her of course. It was a moment in my life. There's something about her. I think it's her courage first that stuns people. Courage to be so very very unique in a world of compromise. What a woman.

i think what everyone is avoiding to acknowledge here is that what we love about actors on the screen are their forceful dominant characters which most of us wish we had....all Hepburn did was lead a off screen life with that same screen persona..that most actors dont bother to do

I really loved Hepburn. In my eyes one of the most iconic actresses in history! Her Career spanning 66 years and her living until the really old age 96. She lived a fascinating, unique, fulfilled and completed life. She was a great actress. I do think that this was a horrible interview.
I love her cute little snort when she laughs and she has a wealth of knowledge that I wish I could have sat hours and listened to.

There are a lot of things that I love about this interview. Hepburn fans interpret her assuredness as being confident in being right about things....basically everything. Here she demonstrates the complete opposite. She's stubborn about things but has no idea whatsoever if she's right or not. I love that candor and confession. It's ok to be unsure about something, but be strong in your convictions and don't force them on others. People were always asking for her opinion. She didn't put her opinion out there ever without being asked. People were constantly hounding her for interviews and quotes and then playing the gotcha game afterwards. She famously said that she looks forward to dying so she wouldn't have to be interviewed anymore. LOL. Legend!

She was the inventer of the complex person. I see perhaps 20% of the true Heoburn is revealed here. She never let anyone know her except her inner circle. I disagree with somethings she choose in her life, but then I'm not her. I saw her with Christopher Reeve in "Matter of Gravity" and I was just thrilled to see her. I was in a cheap seat cause I drove with a friend at the last minute to her play. I just watched her of course. It was a moment in my life. There's something about her. I think it's her courage first that stuns people. Courage to be so very very unique in a world of compromise. What a woman.
I always loved Rhett's line to Scarlett:

In reference to Spencer she said "I had perfection, why bother" (in reference to being with other men after Spencer) She DEEPLY loved him, Amen Ms. Hepburn.
