I often hear the PMJ versions and then search for the original. Beginning with Creep & Black Hole Sun with Hayley Reinhart, I want your Love with Ariana Savales & Sarah Reich who made me wish I had taken up tap dancing. Take me to Church cover with Morgan James and those covers with Von Smith are fantastic. Halo with LaVance Colley, and Kenton Chen with Closer!! Oh you get the idea. So, so many. I wish I could see these performers on a PMJ tour to Europe but I guess it is too late now.... Thanks Scott Bradley for introducing your special talent to us and these performers.

@@bachaddict That's actually a complicated question. They don't have to ask her. It's nice to do so, but not necessary. They're *supposed* to ask her label. Especially, if they're going to sell a recording. In theory, every time you play a cover (including at live shows), you are supposed to pay a royalty to the label. This is really hard to enforce, though.
You know the famous story about "Bittersweet Symphony". How the Verve got sued by the Rolling Stones' for using a sample illegally? That isn't what actually happened. They sampled a COVER of a Stones song, so the rights were owned by two different companies, neither of which were The Rolling Stones. The Verve got permission from the one and not the other, didn't realize there were two entities they had to go through instead of the one, and by the time they found out, it was too late to do anything about it.
Music Rights Issues are WEIRD.
