Most of the lads have stopped playing and moved onto Star Citizen. So you'll see them mostly on spectrum and the SC discords more than the elite ones these days
@@abdur78 There are a lot of good pvp players who use hotas, but it takes more time to learn. As for me, I am more effective with mouse and keyboard but I switched to double stick and pedals, cause it adds a lot to immersion.
Tested Short Range Railguns some time ago on many ships, was funniest on the Gunship from obvious reasons but totally unplayable - also, with a HOTAS I can only dream about ever getting to at least decent accuracy. Anaconda was best as a Plasma Slug platform for this for PvE for sure (unfortunately Elite NPC pilot sucks at it as he aims at centre mass with one rail but shoots all of them missing half as a result, but in serious combat PAs overshadow everything by such a margin that nothing makes sense. One could hope for a weapon balance pass at one point but who will do that? Frontier? Lol they would have to contract actual good players like Mango or maybe beg Rinzler to do it otherwise we would just end up with another nonsense.
Geez you're flight assist off skills are insane. From what I've gathered you're on M&K. Do you use relative mouse? I'm getting into pvp and thought being on M&K was a limiting factor.
Thanks man, and ye I do use mouse and keyboard with relative mouse. Honestly for PvP any setup can work great if you practise enough with it and customise it to your preferences
@@Hazzmango - hence the failed shields, cuz a heatsink take the place of a SB.... Not to say he cooked alive himself with all the heatsink.... almost 50% of damage self-inflicted lol
@@mirandela777 if you are talking about the python, that is not heat damage that he is taking when his shields are low/about to break. It's one of the few times where a person managed to get their banks off but we are out damaging it so his shields go to zero, the damage that makes it through is taken as direct hull damage

@@djwave28 This was when I was using mouse and keyboard, FA off just takes practise and its easier not using a stick and throttle

Nice build and video! I imagine slapping a huge beam laser with short range and thermal vent will take care of the heat problems.
Funny enough that’s my build today (beam w/rails) it still heats up but is a bit more manageable if u run out of HS’s

I pretty much copied over the default Star Citizen controls since they seemed to work best for me. If you join my discord I'll put up my setup there

It honestly varies, I would stay stick with what you use currently and if you start to feel limited then switch to mouse and keyboard

Been flying with flight assist off since about the end of 2016, so I would say maybe about 1,000 hours

I feel lame for asking this but how are you drifting around like that? Are you flying throttle down but going heavy on the boosts?
Flight assist off, gives you much greater control on where you ship will go, allows for drifting that you see in the video.

I manually changed the field of view in a setting file somewhere, I think I set it to 70 or something. The default FoV wasn't making me happy.
How the utter fuck do you fly this smoothly with FA-off? Every time I try, I just end up in an endless loop of over-correcting for spinning.

i wouldve gone with an efficiency modified beam with thermal vent on the size 4 to not have an issue with overheating. but hey that's just me
The heat wasn't the issue with this, the heatsinks are used to give extra distributor recharge when venting

Size 4 MC's have more than enough penetration, and railguns have straight up 100 pen
It's mainly to help your team mates rather than an outright damage increase for yourself
