khaliyah jefferson every time the two of them fight something changes about Accelerator because of Touma. Without him none of those changes would’ve happened and he wouldn’t have been the character we see today is what I’m saying. Like it or not Touma help shape the guy into what he is now
Accelerator is one of the best written characters I've seen. He's a person who puts up a strong front to be reassuring. He acts strong so that Last Order can feel comfortable and secure. He's also the best of Red Herrings. We thought of him as just a psychopath at first, but even at our first sight of him, he left one bit of insight as to why he took part in the experiment: "I want the idea of fighting me to be inconceivable." This mantra leads insight as to who he is. I didn't notice it in my first viewing of Index, but after rewatching it with a buddy, I noticed it the first moment I saw him. He wanted to be so strong that no one would ever fight him. Therefore, no one would get hurt. Accelerator endlessly relives tragedy. He sees his past and it weighs on him and he moves along as he feels is the right thing. It also helps that Touma serves as both a counterbalance and almost a mentor influence. "Does it matter whether you're a hero or a villain? If there's someone crying out for help and you wish to protect them, does it really matter if you're a hero or villain?" -Paraphrasing of Touma. Which after that, Accelerator acknowledges pure respect of Touma. "Mottaku. The person who never considered whether he was a hero or a villain was the first person to jump in to help protect someone." -Accelerator. A person who is truly crass and psychopathic would never have these moral dilemmas and crises. He's a good embodiment of gray morality. Good person with incorrect actions. When given proper direction, he can do wonderful things. He regrets how he had taken part in the experiment. Realizing, after Touma's punch to the face, that he went about it wrong. Then he fought so that the Misaka clones wouldn't have to go through with it anymore. All of this knowledge of who he is prior makes even his more neurotic moments enjoyable. It does help that his voice actor is also REALLY into voicing Accelerator. Accelerator is the perfect human being, in his inperfection.

I think Kazuma is a scumbag, but he's not bogged down by "a villain's aesthetic" in fact, I'd say that Kazuma's more of an adult in mentality than Accelerator. Kazuma, unlike Accelerator, has a gray and grey morality and Konosuba's depiction of gray and grey in their humor is a major appeal. As the cast of Konosuba are scummy, just trying to live their lives to the fullest. Accelerator's a different story. He's very black and white in morality, even if ill expressed. He calls himself a villain, despite (most) of his actions being for the greater good. (Albeit he does have a sadistic streak and reminds us of that in the new spinoff, where he vehemently tortures the Scavengers. One to the point where he electrocutes someone and expects them to enjoy it.) Another favorite line of that scene is this: "Bad as I am, I don't like to pick on little kids." This quote is a major insight to him as well. He's got a false equivalency as to what makes a villain, but inevitably he's an anti-hero, possibly an anti-villain and a low possibility of being a hero with a child's mindset. Accelerator is a fascinating case study and one of many factors that make To Aru such an interesting series.

Accelerator has to be my favourite character due to the fact that he changes alot through the toaru series and these changes are good, it makes me smile knowing that he has good character development through the series. He's an awesome character, love him.

NGL, Accelerator was the main reason why I had to bear with the whole Index series with the annoying MC preaching self righteous morals and religious bullcrap like evil priests and stuff but it's worth it in the end.

When I first watched Toaru Index. I kind of had a bad feeling towards Accelerator. But, when Last Order appeared and he took care of her. and grieves on Misaka Worst. *damn. He was the best boy after all.*
I think I remembered some scenes that shows accelerators childhood, where he was a friendly kid then his ability manifested and he became a threat to the world, soldiers would fire guns,cannon,tank, and nuke even when being just like literal 10 yrs old
This goes to show that even a certified bastard with a vein of cruelty as wide as the Bering Strait can have a shred of decency hidden somewhere behind that foul-mouthed, violent, destructive facade. And that shred is called Last Order. Though Komoe-sensei takes the cake for being the best damn punchline in this entire video. Accelerator's reaction to her is just priceless, and Last Order's comments are the cherry on top. They make such a good pair.
Well, he was actually good guy all along. Things went south when people tried to prove themselves strong by trying to fight Accelerator. Accelerator hated that and agreed to join the level 6 project because he was told clones weren't real human and that by reaching level 6, no one would dare to challenge him anymore, thus nobody gets hurt anymore. That's when he started to lose himself and turned to be certified bastard. And his fight with Touma made him realized his true nature again and decided to redeem himself by protecting all sisters at all cost. Though he had turned into a tsundere that can't be honest without showing any form of irritation. Meanwhile people, besides Yomikawa and other woman that had been looking after him, only knew him as a sadistic evil esper.
"With the state i'm now, i might have to consider retiring as the strongest in Academy City But still, i.... I've decided to claim myself as the strongest in front of that kid" -Accelerator, after defeating Awaki

i now watched that, so i think she was not scared simce she was in absolute safety (from acclerator) because he can use his power only due to misaka network. And Last Order is control point. So probably she can control his powers too

Accelerator is a lot like Vegeta to some degree. A villian (not by choice), goes from killing people to get stonger to protecting a little girl. He becomes more relatable. Plus he remains a badass as well despite being nerfed so that people like Touma can keep his throne.

This goes to show that even a certified bastard with a vein of cruelty as wide as the Bering Strait can have a shred of decency hidden somewhere behind that foul-mouthed, violent, destructive facade. And that shred is called Last Order.
Though Komoe-sensei takes the cake for being the best damn punchline in this entire video. Accelerator's reaction to her is just priceless, and Last Order's comments are the cherry on top. They make such a good pair.
Well, he was actually good guy all along. Things went south when people tried to prove themselves strong by trying to fight Accelerator. Accelerator hated that and agreed to join the level 6 project because he was told clones weren't real human and that by reaching level 6, no one would dare to challenge him anymore, thus nobody gets hurt anymore. That's when he started to lose himself and turned to be certified bastard. And his fight with Touma made him realized his true nature again and decided to redeem himself by protecting all sisters at all cost. Though he had turned into a tsundere that can't be honest without showing any form of irritation. Meanwhile people, besides Yomikawa and other woman that had been looking after him, only knew him as a sadistic evil esper.

Funny thing I actually liked Accelerator more than the main character back when he was first introduced. He has character development which I like.
Well hes the 2nd of the 3 protagonists. also touma also gets character development later on
@@maroke9566 Eh Touma is cliche to some degree. He's the same character who happens to be there for all the damsels in distress. They end up all falling for him and yet he's to stupid to notice.
Accelerator is a lot like Vegeta to some degree. A villian (not by choice), goes from killing people to get stonger to protecting a little girl. He becomes more relatable. Plus he remains a badass as well despite being nerfed so that people like Touma can keep his throne.
