HI Dieter, to quote Forrest Gump "shit happens"as long as both of you and the boat were ok , and able to provide many more fantastic memories of your trip. take care
Dieter, I was slave to 36-109 built in Hong Kong about 1969. A woodie. with a single. She was a project boat and I spent years trying to restore her to something near original. Fortunatly A Canadian couple are carrying on with the restoration but it is a very long process. Our cruising grounds were Puget Sound Georgia Straits and Desolation Sound. Very few canals and LOTS of Islands, all salt water. Wish you well and many pleasant trips.
Thanks for your comment. I had a cabin in the Youkon and would love to cruise around Victoria Island ... too far away for me. Hope you found another boat that carried you onwards. When I chose my Grand Banks, I consciously tried to find a GRP boat knowing about the work to be done with a woody. Still 1974 was the first or second year of GRP Grand Banks :-) It seems to be like a tank, with very sturdy and thick hull.
In narrow waterways there’s always the possibility of grounding when away from the central line. So pleased that all was well after carrying out some repairs.

You are right and it was also a new and valuable experience, even if it meant some hours of work afterwards. Glad you like my adventures :-)

Yes, in addition it happened at one of the curves before reaching Crinan. But I sure was getting a shock at that occasion
