I read a couple of studies from Australia and Sweden that show the risk of distant recurrence several years out is less for women who get a fine needle biopsy rather than a core needle biopsy. Can you address that and also the risk of seeding in general?
I had a core needle biopsy of a breast mass that turn out to be malignant, after a week I came back for another biopsy of the same breast and the radiologist commented that the titanium marker that she had put a week before on the malignant mass moved a little bit because I had developed a hematoma on it, my concern is when the body reabsorbed this hematoma, if there are cancer cells on that hematoma, would my cancer spread to my lymphatic system and to the rest of my body? I was not comfortable asking her this question.

That was interesting . Thank you. When my doctor did a biopsy she used the “gun” one to extract the cells. It was like a marathon pistol.
