How looong I have resisted getting a 360 Camera. But as a VR developer, 4k, even 5.7k were inadequate! Mine arrives tommorow. I only have a few thousand subscribers but they've been asking why I haven't been uploading anything lately... This shall be my new inspiration!

do you know if you can export the "Edit Data" (Keyframes...etc) you created from the mobile app and save to a memory card so you can edit on the desktop? You can do this on the X3 by clicking on the "Edit Data" tab, but on the X4 it does not appear this tab is there?

1-inch will still be the best for virtual tours and low light, but for everything else x4!

Great vid. Can i check if any post editing was done on the footage from the 360 for this video? App looks great for editing, speed snd 4k upscale etc. I had a one x years back but the workflow and 1080p output stopped me using it

Yea I’d say so! No need to swap modules. This is a one piece camera that can do both 360 and single lens video 👍🏽

You’re welcome Jaana! I’d say the x4 can be both a great 360 camera and single lens action camera. And a good companion along side the pocket 3 👍🏽 i don’t see a point getting hero 12 / osmo 4 / ace pro!
@@Best360 True, the x4 would be a 2in1 camera. I haven't filmed anything since the end of January, so maybe the Pocket 3 is enough on its own. 🙂 Let's see.
As always great video, thank you. I am making virtual tours and updated from the X2 to the X4 today. I used HDR Photo mode with RAW on the X2 before, but on the new X4 I can't switch to RAW in the HDR mode and I have not any manual settings for ABE in the HDR mode. Do you know why? Do I have to choose between HDR or RAW photo on X4? That would be a big downgrade for me. Would be great if you could help me on that... I have a client this Saturday and planned to use the X4 for the first time
For virtual tours the hdr bracketing option is not available yet. I already enquired about this feature and wondering why it’s not there anymore…
@@Best360Thank you for your fast answer. That is very strange I also contacted the support because of this.
Hopefully they will fix it as soon as possible. But I can say that the X4 in HDR JPG mode without HDR bracketing is better than my X2 in HDR RAW 9 ABE. So I will use the X4 now and can’t wait until they give us custom HDR settings. Then the results will be even better.
Would you also use the X4 on HDR JPG mode for getting the best possible results for virtual tours for now or do you have an other suggestion?
@ABDU-Reviews waiting to hear back from insta360 about this. I also want to know if manual hdr bracketing will come in future firmware update or not. I usually use the 1-inch 360 for virtual tours. So I will need to compare the 1-inch 360 and x4 auto hdr and see what the difference is

It’s auto gain so probably not the best for extremely loud environments

What audio setting do you use? Does the X4 still have the same three (wind reduction, directional, stereo)?
i used stereo mode with the mic wind muff. it has all those modes and a new auto wind noise reduction mode.
Can you explain why you are not using the built-in Timeshift function when you were demonstrating Timeshift in your video? I am trying to understand which way is better, thanks in advance ❤
How come you don't use Active HDR in the bright sunlight? It seems like it would really bring out the dynamic range of the beautiful sky and sunsets.
I don’t like the video quality in this mode. I prefer to underexpose in 8k and lift the shadows. Looks much better

The dynamic range in 8K is very good. The video quality in active hdr looks bad in comparison

I will probably be returning mine. The resolution isn't all that great, the artifacts in the video are bad, the color banding is bad, the fact you can't export EDITED spherical 360video off their app in any resolution is bad.
Premiere and Davinci workflow is awful. Just not a lot going for it with this half inch sensor. AI can't fix resolution issues. And they are over sharpening their video. THAT ALL being said, other than Davinci and Premiere, what is another way to edit 8k spherical footage and export 8k footage with music, text etc?

Got mine a month ago too. After seeing these videos, I’m glad I didn’t wait. X4 has slow-mo. That’s it. Nothing more. 8k vs 4k looks no different
lukewarm feelings if I should upgrade from X3 to X4. I love the 1" edition for its night shot, but I sold it, after 2 weeks usage mainly because of its overheating issues, but I struggle with X3 on its night mode. if possible, can we have a comparison video between X4 and 1" 360 edition, especially in the night performance.
From everything I’ve seen (from these paid advertisements) the X3 actually looks better in low light. Wait for the honest, unpaid reviews in a couple of weeks before buying anything. Remember the disappointment with the Ace Pro? All the paid advertisements raved about it. The honest reviews gave it a big ‘ol 💩

Hmm I’m not sure - I think it should work when you put the sd card in it. But it won’t work if you try and connect it directly to x4 usb port

Please make a video, how much of 3m insta360 stick is visible with x4. It was already a problem with x3, some part of stick was visible. And x4 is bigger and heavier. Probably the half of the stick will be visible

Wonderful content, but the one shot I wanted to know how you did it wasn't in the video! From 0:08 to 0:15, the camera looks forward to show the scene, but then flips around to show what's behind you. How do you show both directions but never see yourself?
It’s basically the timeshift shot but the x4 is really high above my head to get a clear view

ive been working on my editing and camera today, 2 issues im having is even though it records in 8k i dont seem to be able to save above 4k, the other issue i have is i cant seem to figure out how to connect my camera to my phone and still have the internet. Why does it shut off the internet?
You can export 8k 360 videos in insta360 studio. It’s only going to be up to 4k reframed. It’s connected to camera WiFi so it cannot connect to normal internet at same time
@@Best360 alright i understand that but i mean what exactly is the point of having 8k if after you edit it, its not 8k. Its like heres a million dollars but once you deposit it into your bank its only 500k. Also i dont understand when i connect my drone to my phone i still have internet access. when i connect my oculus headset with wifi to my computer it still has the internet. i can think of a few items that connect to using wifi without losing internet. Im sure theres a reasonable answer i dont understand but it seems weird i cant connect my camera to my phone and have internet at the same time even just mobile internet 5g. 8k is the entire sphere of video. You only show a part of it to the audience when you reframe. You cut out a rectangle from the sphere. This rectangle is 4k from the 8k spherical video

On the app? I’ve never seen this feature on the iOS app. Only in insta360 studio
@@Best360 on the studio, I did think it was on the app too but must be wrong, can’t find it on studio though. On a plus side it’s awesome that the app on ipad now utilises the full screen and not just a the phone app size!

Why isn't the camera working out of the box? And why can it only be unlocked with an Insta360 app? And not even with a PC, only via smartphone... How about making a video about that?
For shot number 4, timeshift, why didn't you use the native camera timeshift mode? I waited entire video just to see it - what are the configuration option - but you just made the ordinal video....
Because it skips frames. Which means it will look less smooth. And you can’t slow it down to normal speed because it’s recorded at fast speed
@@Best360 If you speed up keeping the same frame rate you also skip frames, dont you? Anyway I wanted to see the timeshift which you claimed to do. Big advantage of timeshift, if you accept you do not want to slow it down, is the resulting size of the video file in the camera, especially when to record long trip, e.g. on bicycle.

Can someone suggest a better lensgaurd for X3. I am using sticky lens gaurd and no matter how careful I am its getting scratched. I am already on my 3rd pair.

Auto Exposure Bracketing was in the X3 but it's not in the X4. It's the main thing I used the X3 for. I wasted my money upgrading.
