This is very useful for knitting wide afghans, shawls, or lengthwise scarves. There is a hole in the center of this cable connector, so you can tighten it with a key, the same way that you attach a cable to a needle tip. Thank you. As a new knitter looking to purchase a set of short circular needles it has been near impossible to find a demo on connecting the two 8" cables that come with some of the sets.
