  • This is one of the best negotiation strategies (IMHO) to get the best deal on any leased vehicle every single time. This will save you time, hassle, buyers remorse and of course money. Remember it also about supply and demand too. Just listen to my video throughout cause this works every time at least for me. I don't claim to be a professional I am just passing along what I was taught many years ago and again it will save you hassle, headaches, inconveniences, BS, buyers remorse, lies, and of course the bottom line.... time & money!
    Note: when I mention down payment (upfront cost) this includes sales tax, registration, first month payment etc.
    Sorry if I was jumping around as i just winged this video. Plz comment below is guys need assistance.
    If this worked for you please sub and like. If you are a car salesman and say i am complete BS and this does not work then feel free to sub and dislike this video. Thank you.

    Note: when I mention down payment (upfront cost) this includes sales tax, registration, first month payment, etc. You cannot drive off the lot without this upfront cost at some California dealerships.

      What made you think that? What I put down "were" the up front costs. Nothing more. Typically there are no down payments on leased cars. All I'm saying is, I obtained a good deal. There are some people on here that aren't too bright. My comments were not directed at you, but for the inane drones.

      A few years back when leasing cars the standard mileage was 12-15k. Now, all I see is 10k per year. This is a ridiculous amount. Where I live one has to drive everywhere. We do not have everything available across the street or next door. I have started to seriously look for a vehicle. Leasing would be good for me right now both from a monthly standpoint and the fact that I have not totally decided what I want beyond the 36 month point. I have been researching vehicles off and on. My top priority is safety with the second being mileage. Safety to me means I need to get something large than a smart car. On the freeways where I live if a vehicle were to slam into the rear bumper I would not have a chance of survival with some of the lower priced vehicles on the marker. There are also many Texas drivers that think that the speed limit is just two random numbers assigned to that portion of the Highway system. Come to Houston for a trial run though the highway system and you will surely feel that you gave Nascar track a test. I am currenlly looking at Infinity QX50 and Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The later one does not have connection to either a iPhone or Android. I thought that most entertainment systems had that by now. Any advice, suggestions? My American made piece of metal is about to a triple bypass but, I don't want to throw my money away...

    I NEVER walk into a dealership to negotiate price. I ALWAYS email all the local dealers and pick the best. I don’t even call. You have to be very specific with details when getting these numbers. You save so much of your time, headache and money doing it this way. You will be surprised how much you’ll be saving vs just walking up and dealing. NEVER walk into a dealership before emailing and getting your numbers from multiple dealers. EVER. And it’s ALWAYS $0 down toward the car if you can. Just pay the fees. Your only saving roughly $15 a month per $1000 you put down. If you’re leasing it makes ZERO sense.

      the issue ive faced with that approach is that often, when Ive gotten a quote by email, the quote I got from walking into dealerships was often lesser than what I got by email. It is a pain to deal with multiple dealers though, especially when its difficult to tell what's a sales tactic vs them giving you genuine information =/... I go through this headache every time my lease comes close to completing its term... same here though...I always go $0 down...also...walking into the dealership often gives you the ability to negotiate a few extras, be it a free couple of oil changes or winter floor mats etc~

    To the people commenting that they wont give out prices over email, you just need to tell them you are unavailable for a dealership visit and are comparing prices. I emailed 4 dealerships and got pricing back the same day, each one asked me to come down to the dealership before giving me the prices. They can't pressure you or put you on the spot if your not there so of course they want you to think you have to come down. Just say no.
    I emailed between the best priced 2, telling them what the other was offering, the pricing came down quite a bit because the dealerships are competitors. Was able to save $120 a month over the dealerships nationally advertised lease deal. Completely done online, including the application. Everything was drawn up and I literally walked in, signed paperwork with the finance department and walked out with my keys in under an hour.
    The worst they can say is no, doesn't hurt to ask. Patients is a virtue- If the deal is not right then ask them to call you when they can meet your terms.

      +The Infamous I asked for a quote on the exact vehicle I wanted, 36mo lease and 12k miles a year and told them my credit scores. They emailed me back the quotes and I chose the best one, wheeled and dealed on the msrp price to bring it down a little more and then when (and only when) they sent me the final numbers did I go into the dealership and do the application and sign the paperwork.

    Great advice. I did this the last two vehicles I bought. Most recent was last week. I never brought in a broker but I usually put the dealerships against one and another until they come back and say they can’t beat one of the prices. It really did element a lot of the headache of buying a car and you know you are getting a great deal since others are not willing to match it/beat it.

    I will no longer comment on this video thread. I have gotten many private messages to take this video down by others and have received very rude comments. I don't claim to be a professional at car leasing I am only passing on to you what I was taught and what I have been doing for years and its been working for me without the usual back and forth hassle for hours and hours trying to negotiate the price and keep hearing how you are getting a the best deal for that car. Then at the end find out you didn't get close to the best deal. For those of you saying this does not work I'm not sure what part of the country you are from but i have done this same thing in several different states and the guy that showed me this and got me my first lease deal has done it in many more states. Again, if you say this does not work then just give it a try. If you are a car salesman and say i am complete BS and it does not work like this then I don't know what to say. I have done this so many times for myself, fam, friends its like clock work for me seriously. This video is for those of you that know what car you want to lease (maybe its between three of them) then get the best deal period. You can waste your time with, residual, MSRP, etc but once you do this method it really does not matter in the end. You know the exact car/model/options you want and you want the best deal for that car....Period!!! Also when i mention down payment I am also including tax, tags, first month lease, other fees, etc. Hope everybody gets a great deal and nobody gets buyers remorse. And of course I hope you car salesmen can meet your quota/bonuses too. Cheers to All! Time to BBQ now!!!!

      ILuvTrading wow I've never seen a post that's just absolutely wrong... Auto Brokers have to make a living, right? How do you think they do this when you purchase a vehicle through them? The dealership pays them 500 to 1000 for the deal. Where do you think that money comes from? Your deal. When ever you use a car broker you're basically paying 15 to 30 more than you should because of the brokers fee. It's very simple to get the best deal but with your methodology you're just shopping around wasting time. Truecar discloses invoice and all applicable rebates and discounts currently available at the time. Go to bankrate and use there free lease calculator. Ask the dealer for the money factor and residual and you can calculate your own deal and exactly to the penny. I'm sorry but your way of doing business is a giant waste of time plus your making car brokers money... To be frank your way stinks....

    the best way is to know what the Money Factor is for that month and Residual Value. Once you know that you can do the math to know if you are getting a good deal or not.
    Msrp you use that number to get RV it changes for each 36 months/10k miles can be 59% and if you get more miles you will pay more cause the value goes down.
    Then the MF will be the interest that manufacture is offering for that vehicle and that will also vary on your credit score.

    What makes up a monthly payment on a lease is the depreciation fee, leasing fee, and sales tax. The higher the residual/lower the cap cost, the lower your depreciation fee will be. The better your m.f.(apr) the lower your leasing fee will be. Getting the best deal is having the proper credit score to get tier 1 lease m.f. rates. Also finding the right time in which the residual is at its best helps as well.

    While all of this is true, you also have to understand what the residual value and money factor is. Some cars really don't lease well. And some cars lease well at some point in time, and not at others. It all depends on the residual, the money factor, lease incentives and a particular dealers willingness to negotiate on Cap Cost. One simple way to calculate if you're are getting a 'good' deal or not is to divide the MSRP by 100. So, if the MSRP of the vehicle is $42k, a 'good' deal on a lease would be $420/mo. And the only other thing that may seem like splitting hairs, but, in this video, seems to be adding confusion. The "down payment" is money you are paying down to reduce your payment (cap cost reduction). You never have to put money down. But you often times do have money 'out of pocket' on a lease and that is typically your 1st months payment (in this case $420), a doc. fee, ($80 or so) registration fees ($150 or so) and an acquisition fee (somewhere between $495 and $895). So you may have a 'no down payment' lease, but have approx. $1,100 to $1,750 due at signing.

    • @moietvous6932
      @moietvous6932 5 років тому

      David - That was a cool trick - monthly payments of 1% of the MSRP. I actually got that in 2016! And it included all the Oil Changes and scheduled maintenance, excessive wear, and the tire option thingee (still wonder if that was worth it!). But I did give them just under $4k as a fully refundable security deposit, plus the gov't upfront fees.

    Shopping this or any way is dependent upon the market or supply/demand based on geographical proximity. For example, You live in a city with 10 dealers, and each of these dealers has 5 vehicles of interest. Out of the 5, only 20% of the cars at each dealer have a color combination that you would take. Now, 100 people in the same city are interested in the same exact vehicle, and dealers forecast this based on internet inquiries, phone calls, and floor traffic. In this case you may miss out on the right one (color and equipment) for a better price. If you can settle on a vehicle most people don't want like the entry level Lexus NX, then shop this way. The Lexus NX doesn't even come close to hitting five figure unit sales in the US monthly.

    Tip: Never put money down on a lease, it's just money that you're throwing away.
    Thanks for this video, I'll use this tip next time I lease a car!

    • @Donzaloon
      @Donzaloon 5 років тому

      Not necessarily. His $3000 down is going towards a 36 month purchase which is $83 a month. That $3000 can help you negotiate a lower monthly. If its by more than the $83 dollars a month than you'd be saving money in the long run. You're gonna be spending money on the car by monthly payments either way it goes. So it's better to put money up front to negotiate a lower price to save money in the long run. But if you were to put money down and it had zero affect on the OTD price or monthly payments etc.. then that would be throwing money away. You're gonna be spending that money either way it goes if you are leasing a vehicle. Zero down on a lease for a 50k car will get you a pretty high ass payment even with good credit. And if you feel like the money you are putting down isn't getting you a good enough monthly payment then just tell them no and walk out the dealership.

    I was reading through all the comments to see what people had to say/ask... so many trash talkers... anyways. Doesn't credit matter when leasing? So if i'm shopping around, won't they want to run my credit? What do you suggest doing if they won't give me numbers until I let them run my credit? Thanks for your help.

    Great Info, Loved it very much! How do you know you're getting the lowest price? Your auto broker was gettind down to $420 per month. How do we know $420 is the lowest? What if my auto broker said the lowest he can get is $500? I already made an appoint with Carmax to estimate my car tomorrow. Call my local bank with lowest interest rate. I am getting a new Mustang EcoBoost (not premium) 2016 (white color) with Leasing. The msrp price is $26,950. What leasing cost you think is a good price?

    Good stuff 👍 I just leased a 19 RAM with a purchase price of 47k and thought, I don't want to watch your video thinking I over paid but come to find out I didn't do so bad. $3500 down, 10k a year, 3 years, $260 a month. I've heard horror stories on leasing but for me, I know new cars are so expensive to purchase and repair so if I stay within the warranty period I'll just dump the car and get a new one. Oh and I'll keep my 85 RAM to mess around with.

      I work as a car salesman, You got buried in this deal. The monthly payment is decent but they definitely took advantage of you on the miles and down payment to get to that payment.

    • @vpking77
      @vpking77 5 років тому

      You should put nothing down. It's real easy to just make the first month's payment and drive away. Your monthly price might be a little higher but if you total the car and pay $3500 up front that money is gone. Your auto insurance pays off the vehicle but that $3500 disappears in the ether.

    I have very similar situation right now. Got an lease estimate on a car from a friend at the dealership for 300 a month on a 20,000 MSRP. They are running a deal on that same car for 189 a month. I don’t have the best credit so am I still in a position to get close to the deal price? If so, should I do the same strategy mentioned in the video?

    Hey I've watched your vid a few times now and it seems to make good sense to me. What I'm wondering though is if you could post here what exactly the email (or text) says that you send to the dealers/brokers? I ask because I have been researching this topic the last couple days and have compiled a lot of information. I'm inclined to believe that I have to know the Cap Cost, the Residual value, the money factor, the drive off fees, etc. Does any of that actually matter and do you bring that up in your email or just keep it simple? Thanks again.

    I went to a Lexus dealer for a 2018 is 300 awd sport
    They asked me for $3770 at front which includes taxes, plates, registration, destination fee.
    With $589 per month leasing and 10miles per month.
    After so much talking they lower to $501 per month
    Do you think this a good price ?
    Any feedback would be appreciated in advance

    My first lease was a 1999 Pontiac GrandAm. After the lease was over, the car was in mint condition. I turned the car back into a Pontiac dealership. I wasn't aware that the Mitsubishi dealer would have purchased the car and I would have been able to get equity to put toward a new Mitsubishi. Now, when I lease, after the lease ends, whatever dealer I go to always pays off the car and applies the equity toward the new car

      That is exactly where Iam now. My lease is almost up. My 2016 Civic has 14,000 miles and not a scratch. I think I may go back to the same Honda dealer for a Honda HRV. I do plan on letting them know that I feel since the car is in such good shape that they are going to turn around and put this mint car on their lot and make good money on it. Yet on the other hand I do have the thought that I may just go to Hyundai and check out the Hyundai Tucson letting them know I feel they will get a good price for my car and that I will not settle for anything better than what they first throw at me for a lease.

    If you are buying a luxury car - Mercedes, BMW, Audi etc is it better to lease or buy? Say u buy a car and keep it for 8-10 years vs leasing 3 times over 8-10 years. Which works out cheaper long term considering maintenance, parts and repairs on luxury cars are high?

    I was in contact with three dealers in NJ via email which were between an hour to 1 1/2 hours from my home. Not one of them would give me a lease price through email. I told them I was unable to drive there and was not going to waste time driving there and not get the price I was willing to pay. I even gave them a starting point in what I would like to pay. No one came back with a counter offer. I was only able to get one dealer in another state send me an offer price. It sounds easy from what this guy says. The dealers know you are shopping them and they also know your just trying to get a price to take to another dealer. I actually went to one dealer and told them to put their offer in writing. They refused and would only write a price on a business card which means absolutely nothing. When a dealership say they will beat any offer in writing good luck trying to get that done. All the dealers know how the game is played. Even if you negotiate a price with a dealer he will never give you something to take elsewhere to get a counter. Now when you go to another dealership and say XYZ gave me this price they say it's just your word. It gets worse than that. A dealer an hour drive away may actually send you a price by email and then when you go to the finance office to finish the lease they start playing games with price saying you don't qualify for this rebate or dealers cash. Sure you can leave but you just wasted 2-3 hours and end up going back home. They key is just to negotiate with dealers locally. Now you can tell them your leaving and going to the next dealer 10 miles away or you going home and it's only 20-30 minutes from your house. They know your serious. It would be great to get dealers bidding against other dealers. Maybe you can do that on the West Coast. Not in NJ and PA.

    Honestly man. I wasn’t even trying to do this and it works. It’s so simple stupid. I got a previous lease quote from a reputable local dealer that was almost $3000 off a new TRD 4Runner (was already a good deal as it was) and I took the paperwork and emailed it to another dealer and said “I got this quote from XYZ Toyota, can you beat it?” And honestly, let them be competitive. 🤷🏼‍♂️ they’re good at fighting for your business so let THEM do it. Not you. They take it almost personally when someone says “well ABC says they can do it for $50/mo less lease price w the same down. Here’s the proof. Can you beat it?” And they’ll move their numbers around the get you to go thru them. 🤷🏼‍♂️ it’s simple stupid.
