...Im African American and grew up in Crown Heights Brooklyn years and years ago... Black people and Jewish people didn't really associate much back then but my mom used to buy our dresses from a cute little boutique on Kingston Avenue, and my mom got friendly with the Jewish store owner. .You guys have awesome content!! 😊....I often wondered about Jewish culture and traditions...Your video kinda popped up in my search
Thank you so much for sharing your life! I'm not Jewish, but admire the beautiful traditions of the Chassidic community. I'm learning so much from you. More please!!!!!
I’ve said it before, but I repeat: your videos are so full of joyous life! One just feels good; that’s it! Dani’s breaking into dance with the shopkeeper was so much fun, and your rapport with one and all is so warm and wonderful. Thanks, as always, for sharing.💛
I love your content so much. I found out last year that I'm Jewish via my mother's mother's (etc) side. I can't live as you do due to my life's path and my unique journey, but I can still learn the traditions and beliefs. I'll never be "really Jewish" since I don't have the lens of one raised within the community, but I am Jewish enough for me. If that makes sense? Your channel is doing so much to fill in the spaces and gives me a perspective beyond the Reform community I've become a part. I love the Reform community and it's where I need to be, but I am so thankful that your family is open to showing us your life. Thank you!
Coool.thank u.. this lovely couple.. they're Orthodox so they're a little more extra and most of us are but they're explaining how beautiful the religion is! Love love love
So cool.. I knew I was a jew..only allowed to be raised as 1.. then I found out I was Ashkenazi..from central Ukraine.. I was adopted and supposedly to be raised Jewish! My grandmother came and escaped Hitler at 3 yrs old.. I'm so happy that you are understanding your roots and just being a cool person!I became a Jewish Atheist cuz of stuff..but I love reading how folks embrace this beautiful..persecuted religion.. we have always had the right for everything I don't even understand why but that's how it is! You have a lovely day..and life!
I don’t know why I cry when I see your videos. I love your family so much. Thank you for sharing your lives with us. I believe when we share our faith we start to understand each other. You are doing a great mitzvah. Knowing is understanding.
It’s so wonderful to see a vibrant and flourishing community! I love that you share your family and traditions with us! The more that we understand other peoples culture, the better we are!! Thanks so much! Keep your excellent videos coming!
I grew up in the south with no real understanding of Judaism till I moved to the North East. Now I live in PA and will say the culture has been the most kind and opening. I love going to the kosher grocery stores because I learn so much about the culture, I also have some dietary needs that are so much better ever since I learned about being Kosher. I just love that even though it is not my belief I have never felt put down or forced to believe one way or another. I have even drove school buses for Jewish private schools and the students are always so loving and kind.
I'm not Jewish but I married a Jewish man, he does not follow all of the Jewish tradition like you do, but he does the important holidays. I'm learning so much from you guys. Thank you
1st this nephew looks like a Singer Island nephew ... family genre runs deep!! 2nd thank you for sharing the neighborhood, it brings back great memories ... think I miss the candy/ ice cream shop the most חחח
do you all live in Australia? i live in central oregon in a small town, there are barely any jewish people at all, but my family is enjoying teaching others , but very little kosher, no judaica ...but ..we moved here from NYC to SF to here so weve collected along the way and we shop when visiting nyc...Also spent 3 weeks in Israel last September and really felt like it was such a good fit! LOved it there.... Question is the such thing at modern chassidic as there is modern orthodox? I REALLY miss the foods tho, no lox , no bagels , no herring, no deli, makes us appreciate our travels even more! thanks for you fabulous videos!
Raizel, I online shop two places you visited. Can you, when you have time, which may not be for months, lol, in the description, list the shops? I need a kosher candy shop because it is so difficult to find kosher candy without gelatine where I now live. I was aware Weinsteins is in NYC, but did not realise they’re at Crown Heights? (I think that’s where you are.) I love your channel so much.
I would just like to make a small correction that only some people wait 1 hour between milk and meat others just rinse their mouths some wait half an hour and some even wait 2 hours
@@zimrasawyer1881 and there are different customs within orthodox community for how long after eating dairy one can eat meat. Some just rinse their mouth and don’t wait while others wait half an hour. After eating hard cheese, one must wait six hours before eating meat. Hard cheese is cheese that has been aged long enough that it can not be eaten unless it is first grated. Generally, once it has aged for six months it becomes hard. Parmesan cheese is an example of hard cheese.
I'm so so happy for y'all so happy. May I experience more grief so y'all can experience more joy beloved. I know this is strange to say even as I write it, but if Hashem impressed me to write it then I must beloved. Have an awesome beautiful day House of Judah! 🥰💪❤️🔥☝️🥰
I am so thrilled with the great comments that you are getting! It makes me think that there is hope in this world I am going to sleep a lot better tonight knowing that all these folks have embraced your religion understand how beautiful Orthodox Judaism can be.. all I have heard lately is horrible people that have been horrible! You just don't know how happy I am right now! MAZEL TOV❣️❣️❣️

Hi I love watching your videos, just wondering have you visited the Jewish community in Manchester UK?
I would just like to make a small correction that only some people wait 1 hour between milk and meat others just rinse their mouths some wait half an hour and some even wait 2 hours
She is referring to the time Orthodox Jews wait in between meat and milk. As proscribed by the rabbis.

Can a winter cap double as shtetl? Hair covered
As long as the hair is covered entirely, you can wear pretty much any head covering.

How does aJew remember all of these traditions and rules?
The Raskin’s trucks often park next to my apartment on Washington Ave near the Navy Yard to pick up fish. My husband and I always admire those trucks!
I have a question. Do you guys consider Jewish as your ethnicity and religion or just a religious identity?
Some of that Jewish food looks amazing
WHy was this posted in shabbos?
Probably just looked like it - they were in Australia (different time zone) when they posted
