Will you be touring down south (like in Florida) anytime soon? I would love to come and see you perform live. Thank you for your songs and the inspiration that they give.
Kevin - great tune and well performed. I was moved by it and put together something simple visually as I spent some time meditating on what the song was saying to me and the hopefulness of your lyrics. Thanks for the feedback but more importantly, thanks for the beautiful song!
Someday we'll roll away the stone That we have carried for so long All our burdens will be gone And I can't wait We will find our way to An understanding of all views No prayer shall be refused I can't wait It seems we have gone too far And now we don't know where we are I believe we'll find a guiding star But I can't wait If faith is the final place Where all fears have been erased And the locks have fallen from the gates I can't wait Someday we'll roll away the stone That we have carried for so long All our burdens will be gone And I can't wait We will find our way to An understanding of all views No prayer shall be refused I can't wait
Just a beautiful tune I've had stuck in my head for months now. Just plain beautiful in every sense. My granddaughter's gonna be visiting for the first time next week and I can tell you she will get to know this tune.
This song fits like your favorite pair of slippers you haven't wore in years. So comfortable, familiar. The harmony, concertina, finger picking and John Prine like arrangement, as well of a the message makes this a great song.
I just remembered this song and went back and watched the Episode of the Ranch where Rooster tells Beau he's gonna take over the Old McConnell ranch and the sadness you can see in Beau eyes when he hears that. After that I watched the episode where they celebrated Roosters life and I couldn't help to not cry. Rest in peace Rooster. You will be remembered
Absolutely love this song. What a beautiful poem, incredibly heartfelt and kind feelings. I am in love with it and these guys. Realize I am way late to my "discovery" of them. Better late than never, I guess. Thanks for posting! 💞
I just heard it about a month back. Can't believe It. I'm also a JP fan, as well as so many others. So much talent in this world, and so much of it still unheard by many of us. 💞
Love this tune. When my mom was visiting I was learning a finger style version and she said it reminded her of the old hymn "Leaning On the Everlasting Arms."
Someday we'll roll away the stone That we have carried for so long All our burdens will be gone And I can't wait We will find our way to An understanding of all views No prayer shall be refused I can't wait It seems we have gone too far And now we don't know where we are I believe we'll find a guiding star But I can't wait If faith is the final place Where all fears have been erased And the locks have fallen from the gates I can't wait Someday we'll roll away the stone That we have carried for so long All our burdens will be gone And I can't wait We will find our way to An understanding of all views No prayer shall be refused And I can't wait
These have to be all accidental dislikes. I was listenin to Alice In Chains the other day and saw I ACCIDENTALLY disliked man in the box. Shit like that don’t happen... 🤠🤙🏻
Shouldn't give such a neggie picture of mans stress seems they wish to put a bullet not a seed of knowledge in his head Troubles ones heart of discernment to his HONOUR
Kevin here. Somehow I just saw this. It’s just lovely Robin. Thank you.

Someday we'll roll away the stone
That we have carried for so long
All our burdens will be gone
And I can't wait
We will find our way to
An understanding of all views
No prayer shall be refused
I can't wait
It seems we have gone too far
And now we don't know where we are
I believe we'll find a guiding star
But I can't wait
If faith is the final place
Where all fears have been erased
And the locks have fallen from the gates
I can't wait
Someday we'll roll away the stone
That we have carried for so long
All our burdens will be gone
And I can't wait
We will find our way to
An understanding of all views
No prayer shall be refused
I can't wait

Such a beautiful song by Kieran Kane, Kevin Welch and Fats Kaplan.
These guys are getting better as the years roll by. Magic.
He sounds like Don Williams. The whole thing has a very Don Williams sound as a mater of fact.. and thats a big compliment.
I really thought the same thing. Thoughtful, profound, pretty, simple approach, and fantastic delivery. So beautiful.
I said that when I heard it on the ranch

Want this played at my funeral
John Prine's band, I think (RIP John). Since they don't have a group name, I'm not sure how to find more of their music.
Love this tune. When my mom was visiting I was learning a finger style version and she said it reminded her of the old hymn "Leaning On the Everlasting Arms."

Got here from The Ranch
Bing watching The Ranch
This reminds me of something that Washington Phillips would have written and performed on a dulceola, circa 1932.
💟
The ranch brought me here
Me too
Check out a song called "Bright Blue Rose " by Irish songwriter Jimmy Mc Carthy....the melody here is very close
Great!
Thank you!
used at the end of story corps today on NPR
Top that
ROOSTER
Some parts of this video do not seem aligned with the song. The song is joyful like watching a sun lighting the dawn. Just a thought.
