- Softening leather seats in a classic car.
To soften your dried out hard leather seats in your classic car use the LRC 20 Leather Softening Creme.
Rub this into your classic car leather seats and once coated cover with a plastic bag or clingfilm to make sure this soaks into the leather over a 24 hour period.
This process can be repeated several times if you wish, but a single application is in most cases enough to soften the dried out leather on your classic car seats, making them soft and supple once again.

Living across the pond, I have been scouring the web for a way to keep my Range Rover seats soft and came across this video. I want to see the finished product now.
Under this play list are loads of videos regarding this Jaguar seat

Thank a bunch. I’m actually watching your videos as we speak. Very helpful indeed.
Very nice. This gives me new hope for my HSV, VY R8 Maloo seats. (You guys have them over in the UK, rebadged as Vauxhall's, I think. But I'm not sure how you designate the models. Extremely hard seats to replace though now. Especially if in good condition... They're as rare as rocking horse shit.
Going to totally try this technique on my old Jordan 11's
Bought myself a 1970 Rover P5b Coupé today, in need of total restoration. Going to have a crack at the interior myself and these seem to be the products I'm looking for.
Any help you need don’t hesitate to ask us take a look at this site www.prorestorers.co.uk the leather encyclopaedia of the internet
@@LeatherRepairUK my car has Buckskin leather upholstery. Is that something you would have on the shelf or would you need details? If so, which details?
@@Pietervdv hello what is it you want to do to the interior and I can guide you to the correct people
@@LeatherRepairUK the leather seats are worn, but not torn. I'd like to save the leather as opposed to retrim it. I was thinking of going through the whole process like you have described in your series, which would include the dyeing phase in the factory spec. I was wondering if you have a database of factory specs to make the ordering process easier, as opposed to colour matching by sample.
@@Pietervdv we have a large data base if colours to find out about specific colours I would advise contacting the company directly who handle this side of things info@leatherrepaircompany.com
an after shot or video with it fixed would make a much better video...
Rob K there is another video showing that we in this classic car Restoration series

What’s LRC 20 made of, Is it water based or oil based?
My dad had accidentally left the sun roof open and water had gotten on the leather seats would this work the same way
Does the paint stop the softening cream reaching the leather fibre?
This products is able to soften the leather even if it’s painted , once applied cover with a plastic like a plate wrap or cling film
That’s a great observation. I don’t think that dyed leather is literally a sealed film like paint is on a steel car part. The dye hygroscopically absorbs into the leather…and over time, the fibers open up due to wear. Why does painted leather smell like leather instead of paint? Hmmm. You see?
I do not see my seats being dried out but they feel too hard ?
Feeling hard is a form of being dried out, leather should feel soft and supple rather than hard.
@@LeatherRepairUK Thank you.
Hi I've got a 20 + year old Pajero. Drivers needs recovering. However need to get passenger and second row softer. To replace renew leather cost prohibited. Unfortunately in SA so not sure if can get this product. Will any softener do same job. As you said might take a few applications and weeks yo notice. Nice Jag seats that's real old leather.
Yes we ship to SA no problems at all
Would love to see the results. Do you maybe have a video avaliable to watch?
under the section called leather repair and restoration there are all the videos for the jaguar ua-cam.com/video/2wum1cbtMIk/v-deo.html
this is the full playlist showing every step we did with the jaguar seats ua-cam.com/play/PL2L2_rEN3Y1sEYx87Whuohoz3uPdXvCf1.html
How exactly would i go about with the bag route? I don’t plan to remove the seats from my car to do this.
Just cover in cling film or pallet wrap once it’s applied and allow them to sweat into the seats.
Hi guys. I've been using neatsfoot oil on my cracked and hard leather seats for a couple of weeks now. Probably had 3 thick applications. Left in the sun to open the pores. Doesn't seem to have made a great deal of difference. I'm interested in the product in this video (LRC20). Is this totally different from neatsfoot oil? Is this better? Can I apply LRC20 over leather that I've already been applying neatsfoot oil to? I'd appreciate your advice, thank you.
Use alcohol cleaner to lightly remove neatsfoot, but don’t use neatsfoot on the leather objects to many oils causing even more damage
@@LeatherRepairUK OK, will do. There are so many conflicting reports on the internet. Thank you for the advice and quick reply.
Hi great video ! But how do you do with vynil because this jaguar like most of them is half leather half vynil ? When it’s dry very dry and about to crack ? Do you use the same process and product ?
You can’t soften vinyl it would need to be replaced if it’s that bad
Should the leather not be cleaned first to open up the leather pores so it absorbs the conditioner ?
There is a full process involved in each video for this series of restoration from this full playlist
Thanks for shareing
Does it help sea salt damage on the car seat that’s already hardened?
You need to do a thorough deep clean first then try the softener creme to see if it helps the seat
@@LeatherRepairUK thank you, what do I clean it with..for a deep clean?

I have a 1980 Ferrari 308 GTS that has very dry seat bottoms. I've tried multiple products to restore them to a supple healthy look and so far nothing has worked. I've used 1 and a half bottles of Leatherique in trying to make them better but no result. Any suggestions?
We don’t know the leatherique products so can’t comment on that range
Have you tried to massage the seats with a leather massager ?
There is a video on our UA-cam channel about this
Alternatively email some

@@LeatherRepairUK what is a leather massager and how do I hire her.
It was killing me that you were missing the sides
You didn’t show the results. 😮
The leather was made soft, the purpose of this video is to show you how to apply softening creme
An "after" would be helpful.
There is a complete series called the classic car restoration series showing you all this
This is the next video along after softening
