Video production is on point. Helmet is as well!
Ayye, much appreciated. Trying to get better all the time
Best DIY Vader helmet ive seen so far. Great job!
I got my art final coming up and the teacher allowed me to make a foam prop for it and one thing I’ve been wanting to make is a Vader helmet
I might save this for that day
Edit: I built it, it’s complete and the paint is just drying
If you want I can send you a picture on Instagram when it’s got the silver painted, thank you for this video it was a big help for my art final and the teacher said she had never seen anyone so this stuff in the school before me
Helmet looks excellent for foam!! 10/10, only let down is the paint. I see alot of reaction and bubbling aswel as uneven gloss. Might I suggest Rustoleum Flat black primer, then a satin black then finally a Rustoleum Clear coat over top. Using gloss paints always turns out blotchy and the Flat black primer will seal any contaminants. Also, You should use VHT Niteshades for the lenses ;) amazing tint spray. Would work wonders!
Your prop quality and video quality is immaculate!
Glad to see you're enjoying the builds! Much more to come
Thanks you so much for giving free templates and I also love your videos!!!!
Where did you find the templates?
@@maryschleif1370 it's right there in the description :)
Amazing template and build just wondering how to tell where the angle cuts are?
😃 Thank you for the video. I did use this tutorial/ pattern for my daughter's cosplay/ Halloween costume. This was my first EVA foam experience. I'm not so good at caulking the joints. The 2Max clear coat kind of saved my project. Because it was so shiny, it did mask some of my joint caulking fails 🤪 I can't figure out how to add the pics though. Also, I had to scale this project. I have never done this before. In trying out the technique from other pages, I mostly figured it out. However, I had to re-pattern the cheek pieces and neck piece. I'm sure this came from my inexperience on how to scale properly. Thank you so much for this build!😀
You could actually get a more rounded neck if you turn them into horizonal strips after that it's just heat, forming a d cutting angles. ~PepMaster
You know, I think the issue is actually with my undercut there. I thought there was a subtle edge there, but now that you mention it, the face is meant to be smooth. Great catch, Pepmaster!
Pretty awesome vader helmet thats pretty accurate.
Thanks for the kind words! It was a ton of fun to build
Why do you only have 600 subs you are really good
Ficou lindo PARABÉNS 😊
I'm going to give it a try with some foam I got .I hope it's as easy as u make it look .
I must say that you did a really good job, you are really good, I signed up
Thank you, kindly! Glad to hear you liked it
Hey!
I was wondering if I could use cardboard with this instead of foam?
Wow thats amazing
Looks amazing!!
Thank you!
Video is easy trick, but i gona making cardboard stlye this from your templates
Awesome! !!!! Thank you!!!
Hello my name is kevin and I'm from Colchester Essex and I love making starwars costumes and other props.
looks amazing!!!!! something that might make it look even better. is the 2 tone look. There's pictures online from each movie
Oh interesting! I hadn't heard of that before, but I love that kind of painting. I did some fun cell shading on a Blue Spirit mask a while back. Reminds me a great deal of that!
@@FoamArmoryProps yep gunmetal grey or gunmetal black. cant remember but yes it makes a difference. i know it did on my rubies vader helmlet
Thanks so much! This is why I love hearing from my viewers.
can you make a clone commando helmet
Hi, thanks for the template and the video, is it made for print in A4 size paper?
I believe I have it set for letter size.
Your work is Awsome great job on the helmet
Thanks so much for the kind words
My 6 year old son loves Darth Vader. But where can we find the 3D helmet or how all of the peaches fit together? Thank you -- this was a great video and we loved your enthusiasm!
pieces not peaches!
Pieces not peaches!
Absolutely! The easiest way is to download the free program pepakura from Tamasoft and use it to open the .pdo file included with these templates.
I just looked at the templates and I got an A4 paper and I drew the templates all on paper and then il transfer onto card
Thats awesome!!!! im going to make this with cereal box cardboard and hot glue and I'm gonna paint it silver and black. Is there anyway I can send u the finished product of the build when I'm done? (Other than Facebook?) Hope it turns out as cool as yours! Merry Christmas and a happy new year btw!
Thank you! Feel free to send any pictures to foamarmory@gmail.com
Go forth, and craft!
@@FoamArmoryProps may the force be with you!
is this wearable? and can you see through the eyes if they are sharpied over? I'd imagine not, any suggestions on what to use for lenses if you want to see through them?
You can definitely see through the lenses. Fairly well, too!
Wait so can you see through the sharpie? I thought it would be opaque?
Nope! It's actually fairly translucent
@@FoamArmoryProps Huh. Gonna have to try that now
Hi! I loved you video and I had no doubts to do it. Just could you tell me which kind of foam do you use? I think the foam that I bought is thin than you use in this video. Appreciate the feedback!
I highly recommend 6 mm foam. It's sturdy, but not too thick!
que es lo que le aplican con la brocha eso blanco?
The white stuff is matte mod podge!
What brand of foam do you use
For this build, I used Michael's house brand Art Minds, but I've been mixing in some HD Foam lately
Im a huge starwars fan im a storm trooper from the new hope
Excellent! The Troopers are some of my favorite designs
@@FoamArmoryProps would you be able to show a video of you making and building an storm trooper helmet .
@@kevingreenfield6866 I'm actually neck deep in that and a few commissions, so I'm hoping to get it out after I wrap on those!
@@FoamArmoryProps ok cool.are you into starwars too then.
@@kevingreenfield6866 oh boy am I! Working a full Beskar suit for a client now, and it's like a dream come true
Can I use cardboard?
I would not recommend it. Cardboard has a tendency not to bend in two directions at once, so it would take a lot more muscling to get the shapes right
I used cardboard and it worked, but I lost it, I probably accidentally threw it
Will cardboard work?
Hey there! I can't say cardboard would be advisable for these patterns. The templates rely fairly heavily on the ability of foam to form compound curves that cardboard would not be able to manage
@@FoamArmoryProps thanks i will use foam then
