What the hell was that woman thinking wearing that dress to court then laughing during the victim impact statements? That is beyond disrespectful and falls into the realm of pure evil.
Strange behavior isn't evil dude. It's weird and rude and I'd be for tossing her out of a court room, but her daughter was going to jail. Maybe that was just more stress than the woman could handle. There were no victims to her laughter other than the feelings of the judge and the victim. There is no law that says your feelings are legally protected. I saw the whole thing and the judge did rip her a new one. The judge told her, "Your family member is going to jail for a choice she made but there are people who are hurt and there is a family who lost a loved ones because of her choice."
It was clear she still had no remorse for the victim's family. Her apologies weren't for them but a full submittance for the judge in front of her. Unfortunately as this video clearly shows in most of its cases, judges will sentence according to their own egos and not the case at hand. Once the judge in question satisfied her own ego(she is also guilty of completely ignoring the family's pleadings), she was satisfied.
The penalty for drunk driving should be much higher. Maybe not as high as murder, but still higher. You chose to drink, and then you chose to drive, knowing that it is very risky. It would be the same as shooting someone as a joke. You know it may kill them, but you still do it anyway. The minimum of three years is a joke. A woman in Texas who had a weed felony was told by the polls office that she could vote, and when she tried to she was arrested and given 5 years. People have got more than a decade for a weed felony but you can get away with three years for killing someone.
I love how that first judge Handled this female nut - job.... We all are under a lot stress. That does not excuse your actions..... A night in jail seemed to wake her up, so to speak.
When I went to court to get my divorce, one of the other cases in the courtroom that day had a lovely Karen. She had filed a request to change the custody arrangements of her grandson to give her son full custody. Her reason was that Junior spends 40 hours a week in daycare while his mom is off at work, which must be terrible for him! Also, the mom's house is too big for a child that small. Instead of living with his mom, wouldn't it be so much better if the grandmother was given custody? Then he could spend all day every day with her and her son (who has moved back in with her because he doesn't have a job and isn't looking for one) and they could co-parent him. The judge was like "Ma'am I'm not going to...(stops himself). Ma'am the paperwork you filed is for parental rights. Since your son is the parent and your son isn't here, I'm unable to do anything. You need to file for grandparent visitation." She says she WANTS to be the parent which the judge says is invalid and tells her to leave. 45 minutes later when my case is done I go out into the hallway where Grandma Karen is on the phone with her son. She tells him she's called him several times. He must have said he was asleep because she tells him he needs to start waking up earlier. She tells him that it's terrible that he doesn't even care enough about her grandson to give her custody of him. She tells him to clean his room while she works on filing the new paperwork. In my state for a grandparent to get visitation rights, you have to prove that the person with custody isn't acting in the best interest of the child and that access to the grandparent is in the child's best interest and that must be by a preponderance of the evidence so I doubt Grandma Karen ended up with anything. Meanwhile, the mystery of why such a healthy marriage failed remains unsolved.
That was a well written description and I enjoyed reading that unusual tale of a dingbat grandmother and her worthless spawn. Thanks for taking the time to share!
When grandparents are karens, things can get viscous mean and hateful. Been there, done that. A lot of judges actually appreciate humor in legal briefings. They often have to sit there and read the whole thing to rule fairly based on them so a little levity can help them stay invested in complex documents. They just first and foremost expect professional behavior when you're on the record and good arguments supported with citations that don't get buried by the comedy.
I like how, in the last clip, that judge told off that Karen (whose name actually is Karen) and would not let her push her agenda in the courtroom. After the Karen said "I knew it was fixed", I wish the judge fined her more or sentenced her to jail for that rude attitude towards the judge, who took no nonsense from her.
From the quasi-legal gobbledegook she spouts, she's clearly a sovereign citizen wingnut. I think most judges these days are clued-in on how to handle those idiots: lock them up for contempt for a few days at least.
She actually gave her a warning after this: she said ma'am I suggest you go and pay right now without saying another word or I'm gonna imprison you for criminal contempt. She exited the court room.without saying a word
It blows my mind when people try to tell the judge what constitutes "due process". Ma'am, they know, they have to have quite a bit of experience with it to get where they are! 😂
I remember watching the adios girl video on another channel and read few comments there... They said that she's just being a nervous laughter or the judge is misusing his power... But I personally think she's not, look at how fast she dropped her 'giggly bimbo' act after the judge gives her 10k fine... And don't know if the judge misusing his power but she shouldn't swear or flipped him in the first place... And I laughed a bit when she came back for the second time and she attempted to tie her hair, as if she is readied to have btch fight with the judge🤣
I feel like being able to give someone up to 93 days of jailtime for reasons of conduct and "respect" can easily be abused. It's in the same league as "disrespecting" a police officer by talking down to or being mean to them while still complying with the law. Too much discretionary sentencing that stems from a singular perspective with its potential biases. This can be made evident from the clip of the judge going out of his way to chase down someone because they yelled outside his courtroom.
She was obviously high. I saw another video where she comes back to court and she apologizes and admits she was under the influence. I wish we could get all of the videos linked up with more info.

I mean…. They had a Latina accent when they were talking. I assumed they said adios because he said goodbye and they spoke Spanish. Seems a bit much to get chraged an additional 5k for saying goodbye.
I've seen longer clips of that particular girl. Apparently she was coming down off her high and had never really been taught how to act or what was going on. My guess is she was scared and confused. I think the judge was more lenient on her once she sobered up a bit, which seemed fair.
7:20 thank you for explaining what was happening in this one. I had seen it before, and the only info I had to go off of was the mumbo jumbo the lady was telling the judge as opposed to why they were even there. This brought so much more context to the clip.
I watch so many videos like this and when I had to go to traffic court I was scared to death. The judge was so sweet and could tell I was terrified. He was very patient and polite. Best part was when I ran to the bathroom after, one of the other people who had to appear and had watched me, gave me a hug and said, “You did a good job.” I said, “I’ve never had to do anything court related before.” She laughed and said, “Baby, everyone in that room could see that.” I’d love a video of people like me almost wetting their pants for running a stop sign. 😂
The Burger King judge was the same judge who convicted Larry Nassar. She’s incredible and I can’t believe that someone would be so disrespectful towards her knowing her history and what she’s done for victims across America.

@@rolandhansen812 Even if you were right, if you think "in court with the judge setting your bail" is the place to be "friendly", you really need to reassess what's actually happening in that situation. It's not a cocktail party. You and the judge are very much not equals in that situation (kinda the whole point). You're there asking for what amounts to a personal favour, based almost entirely on the ability of the court to trust that you understand your legal obligations (like not skipping-out on your hearing) and take them seriously. Not grasping that is evidence in and of itself that you're going to need, at the least, more of a reason to ensure you come back (ie. $10K being on the line, instead of $5K), if indeed you should be granted the privilege of bail at all. Imagine if someone asked to borrow your car, and starting getting snotty with you about your conditions for the favour before you'd even handed-over the keys. How would that affect your level of trust in them to respect your wishes and your property? Would you be more or less likely to believe that they would fulfill their promise to return the car when, where, and in the condition agreed upon? If you already needed some guarantee beyond their word, like holding cash from them to ensure they'd live-up to their obligations, would that kind of flippant attitude towards you and the situation make you more or less likely to think that maybe you need to give them more incentive to take this shit serious?
She wasn't fined for that, or for anything in that proceeding. IANAL, but it appeared she was being assessed for bail, hence the questions about property that could serve as a surety against her promise to return to court, should she be released. Bail is not a right, and is very much dependant on the personal assessment of the judge of your character, attitude, and their resultant impact on whether you can be trusted to be released until trial and how much of a hedging bet may be necessary to ensure you don't flake on your legal obligations to return for your hearing. Being flippant with the judge setting the bail for your appearance is not only an incredibly bad idea, but evidence in and of itself that you're not serious about your responsibilities in the situation. That evidence being provided, the judge re-assessed and increased her bail, because it seemed clear she thought her duty to live up to her legal responsibilities was not a priority for her. She further confirmed that impression by flipping-off the judge, which was also a direct offense of contempt that earned her an entirely separate sentence. When you fuck with judges, you're fucking with the entire concept of the rule of law as a whole. Without that, no democracy. Exceptionally inadvisable.

She was given no warning, the judge has the power to just kick her out of the court room and the judge skipped several steps because her ego was bruised. No one should go to jail for laughing or because a judge doesn't like your attitude.

nervous laughter is involuntary and is a natural response. Look it up and the "milgram experiment". Its spontaneous and uncontrollable.
Yep, that's a head scratcher. I'm sure the lazy father and controlling grandma weren't the problem!

Everyone has a sense of humor...you just gotta be crazy enough to find it....I make my bosses have a sense of humor lol you don't laugh I don't work.

The word is vacuous. It basically means empty-headed.

You’ve never been to court. Lol
What makes the stoner girl trial even more satisfying is that the judge seemed like he having fun.🤣🤣🤣🤣 His face said "I love my job."

"I am serious, adios." lmao
The only time I've felt completely helpless besides in court was in Marine corps boot camp.
Exactly. It’s like going to another country, you respect the laws and culture.
I remember watching that DUI case with the mother. I still think that’s the most boss ass biatch judge moment I’ve ever seen. Those crocodile tears the next day were sublime.
Yes. I liked that judge a lot. I loved the way she handled herself both firm and a bit bass but still professional.
I've served on FIVE juries and none of the cases were THIS entertaining! 🤣
"When the sign changes to Burger King then you can have it your way." Well played lol.
The fact a mother, who daughter killed a man and now those kids will never see their dad again is SNICKERING I bet she the type of person who said “I raised her on my own!” But got a huge amount of child support and other government money
That is probably the reason that girl is like that anyways, because of how her mother raised her.
If u get huge child support then usually it’s bc you’re doing it “on your own” since they go by custody % and Income
That judge destroyed her with Burger King's slogans. That was pure wit
That lady that laughed as the family read a statement sobered up quick after a night in jail
Jail in this country isn't a cake walk, so its known to do that to some of the worst apples of the bunch
Girl: Adios!
Judge: **chuckles**
*W E ' L L B E R I G H T B A C K*
Penelope: middle finger
JR Chomat:
*C O M E B A C K A G A I N*
Just found this channel tonight, here in Australia. I’ve been so sick with Covid….thank you so much for making me laugh!🤣🤣🤣
4:10 she was seeking a protection order to help herself and her kids because she had an abusive partner, and for the judge to just grab her by the neck..💀
Don't scream in the courthouse kids...
4:28 idk why but I can feel that finger point was powerful somehow.
*"When,* the sign changes to 'Burger King' you can have it your way!!! *Ma'am!!"* That judge is an artist.
