    Prokofiev once said that as a small boy he fell off a pony and hit his head.. and he's been writing music ever since.

    Berlinphil youtube channel, Prokofiev is my favorite composer of all time, so I always check your channel to see if you have posted any videos of his works. Sadly you only have 2, and they are the EXACT SAME! You really couldn't have posted any other excerpt from any other Prokofiev work? I guess I'll just wait another year for the next Prokofiev post.

  • @carlnielsen1

    No, the other one was with Dudamel

  • @greghales1596
    @greghales1596 12 років тому

    I too found Dudamel more exciting than Luisotti. Luisotti did a good job, Berlin sounds great as normal but Dudamel gave a Prokofiev 5 that is almost as good as Karajan. Berlin and Dudamel really should issue it on DVD and CD.

    Surprisingly small strings section. I'd totally expect 10-12 violas and cellos each, instead of 8.

  • @witjas123
    @witjas123 12 років тому

    I find Dudamel's interpretation better. Better sound in general from the orchestra, better balanced, more contrast. More exciting for me.

    Although Prokofiev is a great composer, sometimes I find him a bit too cold and sleek for my liking. Shostakovich is still my main man
