  • In this video I will show how little amount of debris on the front of the truck can block sensors, and how to get your cruise control working if it is blocked.

Something similar happened last winter with my 2021 Powerboost with Ford 360 2.0 Assist. While on the road in a snow sleet storm, the front grill got iced over and the same message appeared in the truck and in the Ford App. As reported in another comment, I turned off the adaptive and the regular cruise functioned as a normal cruise control. The next day temps went up and the grill thawed and the sensors came back on and the system worked as normal. But you asked about other messages, I have gotten similar warnings in the truck and app regarding low tire pressure. At a later time the rear sensors failed and there was a warning in the truck and app. This required replacement of the sensors by the dealer. Initially after the sensors were replaced they would not boot up and the dealer sent for a new module (don’t remember the name) however the next day the system booted up on its own and all sensors started to function. There is more, I checked after a later oil change and the part order had been canceled - Ford or the dealer via the App was aware that the system rebooted. My point is that via the app or the truck internet connection,Ford can monitor the function or lack of function of the system. I would be interested in what you can find out about this aspect of these connected Ford trucks.

Sensor in bumper gets water and ice in it ! Mine stop most of the winter and then work again once thawed out ! POOR design ! Now drive mode is not working ! Sat radio just went off as well ! First snowstorm collision avoidance goes off ! Not sure if cruse control stops as I never use it in winter on ice covered roads. Mine did not have adaptive cruse ,just as well in Canada's North !

Could a headlight going out cause the pre collision censor to not work? In turn making the cruise control not work?

I don't think so since the feature works without your headlights being on. Typically this is done using ultra sonic or lidar sensors.

Hi, I got a F150 where after a front crash the bumper and the cruise control module were replaced. After repairs done the Cruise adaptative control work fine but the collision warning does not, even the truck dashboard display does not show any pop-up malfunction warning. Everyting looks ok and working fine, but in reality the collision warning does not work. The way I use to check it is driving in low speed against a parked or stopped vehicle or anything on the street and no collision lights and sounds go off. So, what you think? . Thank you

It's really tough to get the collision warning to go off on purpose, the only time I really see it is if I am actually about to hit someone. Or if a vehicle you are following is turning in front of you and you are pressing the gas pedal knowing you won't hit it but get too close.

I have same issue when turning on cruise control.
Ford dealer blaming on Safelite for bad job on replacement the windshield since it's not sitting flat in angle with the roof .
They are going to replace it again will see.

You can get your cruise control working again if you turn off the “Adaptive Cruise Control” in the settings. If you’re in regular cruise control mode, no sensors are needed.

On my 2023 Bronco this will turn off Adaptive Cruise
Features -> Driver Assistance -> Cruise Control -> Normal
Obviously you'll have to manually turn it back on to see if it works. My sensors are in the bumper (not the same as where the cameras are). They are little round flat bits about 1/2 inch in diameter, that are not made of bumper material.
Crapped out on me with snow but who would drive a Bronco in the snow or mud ;-)
    Thanks!

If you go into the system settings, you can turn off Adaptive Cruise Control and then you’ll be able to use your Cruise Control again.
