1:48 you could put a contact sensor on the elevator door that alerts people in the garage that the elevator door is open (I.e. turns a light on or if there’s a color changing bulb it could turn that light a specific color when the elevator door is open and then when it’s closed it would turn the light back to white)
Great looking elevator!!! We have one in our home too, it’s only 44” x 44” x 7 feet tall. Your is beautiful and the stainless is the best looking material and those ceiling lights are perfect. Great job. 👍🏾
Great explanation. I really like your advice about just framing for the shaft (and I would add maybe ensuring they add the electrical work) when you build but not adding the elevator yet but using the space as a closet until you need the elevator. Like a car, a elevator needs a lot of maintenance - even if you don't use it. So its better to wait until you need it. A lot of people are concerned about cost - but if you want to stay in your house as you age its a bargain - how much is a month in assisted living? Also, if its financed as say, in the cost of this house, the $43K in this case would only add you about $272/month. I think most people would want a smaller elevator - at least in terms of height. 9 foot ceilings on the first floor are more standard as well as 8 feet on the second and 8 feet in the basement. But you definitely need one big enough for both a wheelchair and someone to push it if necessary. Also, like you said, you need 5 feet in front of all doors.
Queen, you look so beautiful! I'm so glad you're sharing the progress with your new home. I always said I wanted an elevator and a "panic room", music studio, in my home. I wish you and your family all the success; and may GOD bless you richly.
@@OliviazVentures Thank you for the reply, I have watched all of your videos and saw that you said you were going to go with agreeable grey at 50 percent. I wanted to make sure you stuck with your choice because the color looks amazing and I will be doing the same in my home I'm building. Thank you

Thank you so much John, this is a terrific idea! Thank you ♥️♥️
Could even put a magnetic release on the door and motor to close it…like they do with automatic fire doors…

Ms Ansell; you are de bomb. I've been looking for an elevator for 6 + years. Now, I really need it. You answered many of my questions. Thanks. Steven

How tall are your ceilings on the first floor
It looks like her ceilings are 10' on the first and 9' on the second floor. I think her basement ceilings are higher than most basements, also.
@@henrylong1245 Thank you so much
Thank you Henry and you're right, 10' on main floor, 9' on top floor and 10' in basement ♥️
