Thank you for this comparison. I have both devices. So it is great to see this side-by-side comparison, so I can decide which device to lean on most. For that, I choose the Rode Video. I like the fact that it stayed on cam three slightly longer than Yolobox - that gave me a longer perspective of a dual conversion, as oppose to just switching talking-heads (Hope this makes sense and could be a subjective minor preference). Overall, Both devices performed as I expected and are very capable. Great work Aaron.
Thanks! Keep an eye out for a followup video where I try out all the options in the YoloBox auto-switch feature! It's got quite a lot of tweaking you can do to tune the behavior!
Most laptops don't work that way, but I vaguely remember seeing some laptop at one point that can also be used as an external monitor for other devices. You could also plug an HDMI capture card into your laptop, then monitor the video feed from Quicktime.
Yolo definitely seemed to do it better in the demo, though neither was satisfying in that final go. Surprised that neither switched from HDMI 1 for a long time in that first stretch. Great that both do ISO recordings. Thank you, Aaron for this, and all you do!

Great content as always!
is it possible to use Speedify on YOLOBOX ULTRA?
The Yolo cut just feels better. Unfortunately. I was pulling for the Rode.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Important that the Ultra is running 2.8.4 firmware
Nice! Beats ATEM + MixEffect for convenience.
You got the point! Haha!
Putting the audio switching evaluation aside, the picture clarity and color are better on the Yolo.
You really think so? I'm glad to hear that!
Really?Where did you buy it?How does it work?
Can i use my laptop as a monitor with hdmi and if so what do i set my laptop to

I agree
Thanks! The YoloBox has a bunch of settings for how the auto-switch works, so I'll do another demo with a deeper dive on those soon!
The settings just need some accurate adjustment to have the best result! Looking forward to Aaron's next video!
