I personally don't mind Guest characters in Mortal Kombat and fighting games in general. Mainly because guest characters can make dream matches with characters become a reality and make it the coolest thing ever. The thing with guest characters is that some characters people completely don't expect and therefore it makes people interested in who could be the next guest character. Take MK 11 for example had you told someone when MK 1 first came out that one day they would be able to do Rambo vs Robocop or Terminator they would've thought you were insane but thanks to guest characters it is now a reality

If an mk character for dlc makes it in and doesn't get added to story or dlc or just the story in general then it's an absolute waste of a character design.
6 was just overkill in MK11. That is ridiculous when we have so many characters who haven’t been playable in forever. I don’t like having guests at all tbh but if we must it should be 3 max IMO.

I like having Guest Characters in Mortal Kombat games. Each have their unique abilities, which felt suitable for the fighting genre gameplay. I also like the way certain Guest Characters interacts with MK characters, such as Terminator meeting Frost, even Spawn and Joker talking to each other, etc.
Same here. Especially with IJ2 and MK11, the devs did a great job making the guests feel like they belong in the universe.

Same here, Slashers are the best for MK as guest characters, although all guests are amazing too.
I think if they do slashers for MK12 I think either Michael Myers or Ghostface should be next.

I think some of the guest characters got a little weird in the last one. I know Joker was mainly added because Ash Williams had to be scrapped, but if they wanted a "Killer Clown Character" it should have been Pennywise. IT Chapter II was coming out that fall so it would have made perfect sense. I also thought Rambo was kinda random. If they wanted a Sylvester Stallone character that fit in with Terminator and Robocop I honestly think they should have gone with Judge Dredd.
Also unpopular opinion: I would have preferred Spawn in Injustice 2. That way we could have seen Spawn face off against Hellboy.
Or hellboy should have been in mk 11. They choice joker because they own the rights to use the character already. So they didn't have to talk to no studio and what not. Agreed about rambo it was random and kinda not placed right. I perfer the horror movie dlc in mk x.
@@cngotham4111 Nah, Hellboy fits in with the Injustice crowd. Plus Spawn has crossed over with Batman before. WB does own the film rights to Pennywise they they could have definitely used him. I don't like R Rated DC characters.

unpopular opinion: I would love to see Johnny Cage In Injustice He Is So Lighthearted and funny and serious at the same time he would be perfect..
Idk about pennywise. I cant see him doing flips and uppercuts. or any type of marital arts. If they wanted a clown they shouldve gotten sweet tooth from Twisted Metal

If Mortal Kombat did a For Honor/Rainbow Six Siege thing where they just continue to add characters into the game every few months. I would be okay with guests characters.

@@carlosrob8423 I would, my avatar is literally MK Armageddon Reptile, that's my favorite version of Reptile as far as look goes. But please no mixing it up with Lizard from Marvel, that's not the same thing, AT ALL.
If you watch closely to this Version of the Lizard face and the Unmasked Reptile of MK2,you would see Similarities,I would however Eliminate the Tail and MK Shaolin Monks,Alternated MK9,and MKX are my Favorite Version of Reptile and the Support Cards in MK Mobile are amazing to the Character.
Tbh I would prefer any of the Mk designs in the movie rather than the iguana look they gave him
I wouldn’t mind Reptile coming back as human or literal Reptile, but the thing is he’s not a major Antagonist like Shang Tsung or Shao Kahn.

I love guests. It’s cool seeing characters I love being put in mk style. Seeing Joker being super brutal and interact with other mk and guest characters was so sick! I’d love to see more characters like Homelander from The Boys or Deathstroke get the same treatment.

That and they think the dlc characters are "bRoKeN". (But yeah the dlc characters in fighting games are sometimes too good. Tekken 7 S3 Leroy 👀)

The thing with guest characters is that they take the place of a MK character that could have returned. Than you have Mileena Stan’s that can be ignorant toxic af people that attack and disrespect people who don’t like and have different opinions of Mileena

Reptile is best as lizard-man. When he’s “human” I just see green Sub-Zero. Boring. Also it was a disguise anyways. A lizard-man is underneath that. I hate full lizard reptile though. 3D era and the 2021 movie are trash designs. I don’t like em. MK4, MKSM, MK9, and MKX are the best Reptile designs and it’s not even close. He shouldn’t be some crocodile but he also shouldn’t be just some dude.
That said, I do believe retro klassic skins of Reptile should have the human skin on it.
i was always more a fan of human reptile, cause idk. As a kid, i used to imagine myself as the characters lol. But also, he just looks cooler imo. And they couldve done a lot with his disguise storywise and whatnot
The only guest we should of got in MK is literally kratos,jason,freddy,leatherface all fit in MK theses was all the best guess characters
I'm a huge fan of guest characters sometimes I wish we had more. After we get most of the long time favorites and some fringe favorites I'm all about the guest characters they work well especially the horror characters.

some guest characters were cool (MK XL), but, honestly, MK needs to STAY MK. not an amalgamation of several genres. in general i cant stand guest characters, specially when they dont fit in (ALL of them in MK 11)

Actually Power Rangers would work in both MK12 or Injustice 3 because Power Rangers are the rare few Superheros that kill eniemes hell they have a f-ing energy canon that blows up there eniemes.
The charcoal artwork, although very impressive, definitely missed a chance to make smoke

He will play different from Jason cause Michael can hang from the ceiling for a deadly attack and throws a tombstone as a projectile and nrs can do a lot with Michael Myers truly in my opinion a versatile character

MK 11 had a very mixed bag of guests. MKX's was awesome though. Sad we never got to do Freddy Vs Jason in an MK game.
My issue with guest characters is that they shouldn't make up a fourth of the roster. There are more than enough legitimate Mortal Kombat characters that deserve some attention instead of Terminator and Robocop.

1. Scorpion vs Noob
2. Fire God Liu kang vs Raiden
3. Kung lao vs Kitana
4. Sub zero vs Shang tsung
I dont mind a little for guest characters but their only for at least one game and never coming back in future games. Not to mentioned the several complaints of characters that needed to come back but only to have their slot taken by a guest character such as Takeda who people want to see come back in MK11 only to get like Spawn/Joker to take his spot.
takeda, reptile, ermac, and baraka... like bro, these guys should be mainstays.(minus takeda. but he was a fan favorite. so shouldve grown into a mainstay)
I like having guests characters in the game, but I do sometimes think of who could have filled their spot if NRS didn't put them in. For example Stryker over Robocop or Havik over Joker.
The thing is they probably wouldn't lol. There's a reason why they try not using to many mk characters in one game. It's to save them for a later one to hype the game up.
See but I’m a huge dc fan, so seeing joker being brutal af and interacting with mk characters was my dream. I’m glad he made it in. I’d like Havik too, but Idk if I’d trade him for joker being in a mk game.

I love the idea of the Xenomorph in the game but the design fell flat for me, it needed a bigger head and it's normal lips rather than having Tarkatan teeth. I also wasn't a fan of how the predator didn't have it's iconic roar and the mask looked a little weird at times. One last nit pick is I wish the plasma caster just stayed mounted to his left shoulder like in the KP 1 trailer and the original '87 film rather than what they did during the actual gameplay.

Predator in MKX, for me, is the greatest thing to happen in video game history. I’m all for guest characters.
I'm so dissapointed that netherrealm studios had chances to put Freddy Krueger & Jason together in one game, but they never did! That was always my dream match up, especially because of the movie Freddy Vs Jason like how did they NOT do it??? Smh ..I hope they can add The Creeper from "Jeepers Creepers" & Pennywise from "IT" to the Mortal Kombat universe. They fit so perfect! Especially because they are ancient entities who travel different dimensions/universes...It would be so cool to see them in a Mortal Kombat game! Ed Boon if you see this please take this into consideration!
Sadly we won't see the Creeper in any games until his IP is owned by someone else, as his creator or movie director (something like that) is a known child predator. He's not in Dead by Daylight and Dead Meat won't do a kill count on that series because of it. Unless they have no issue doing business with an exposed abuser, but that wouldn't look good for PR.

I love guest characters myself at least they have more constant personalities then the og characters
and thats the fault of the studio. Which is the complaint of people that dont want guest characters in the first place. So the fault still falls back on nrs.
Just give us LESS guest characters at the least. Dont have them be 50% of the kombat pass all the fing time.

I still feel like Kitana is more recognizable to people that don't keep up with the game. But, Mileena is definitely rising in popularity.

I'd rather they put all guest characters planned for the game in from the start instead of overcharging for them. It's best to just wait a year and get the ultimate edition. I'd like to see some guests from other game franchises. Also as far as extra MK characters I'm not a fan of that I feel they should definitely be in the base game instead of an extra charge.
For real. Like what old Smash Bros do with their hidden characters. Have them be unlockable.
