Thank you for an interesting review. In my very humble opinion, the Asvines are some of the very best pens produced in China. I recently bought two Asvine V 126 in the black anthracite and blue, both piston vacuum fillers with similar mechanisms and looks to the Pilot 823. They have steel nibs of good quality and generally perform very well, depending on the quality of the paper. They are not as fine and well made or performing as the Pilot 823 but, as general use pens, they are very good. Have you tried the V 126?

I would think it was a copy of a Laban Skeleton, rather than a Visconti.
