Michael, if your ever near Santa Rosa Ca...Id love to hear you thru my 64 JBL Vibroverb Yours for any gig 100 miles from hete...delivered in an EV but u must sign my 56 Strat next to Dick Dale
I witnessed this genius at a James Taylor concert in Cardiff UK 2/10/14. OMG. Just when you think you have seen them all, up pops this master of the guitar. Cant wait to catch him again. Awesome.
I had the chance to record some tunes with Mr Landau (tunes can't be released unfortunatly for now due to healt issue), but yes, i confirm, he is that Good !!
oh shit that was live, sounded so intimate and clean like he was sitting alone in the studio -- so tasteful -- so many covers of this song, people either do too much to this cover or don't do enough and sound like a copy-cat -- this dude played it the way i would, there are so many fucken perfect licks played-written perfectly by jimi in the original -- so it's good for players to just play them as perfectly as they were written and not jump off the cliff with their own ideas (keep the details: don't over or under vibrato -- jimi had some of the tastiest fucken vibratos, as well as hammer-ons and pull offs -- beginners and ego-driven players often fuck up these textual parts of the playing that should be used to create different moods that emphasize different narrative points in the song ~Pro-King
not just a good version, this is exactly the notes of jimi hendrix in the intro, even stevie ray vaughan could not do that. its better than good. 2:30 eric johnson what the hell
Funny thing - if you go back and watch one of the old official toto live dvds, luke is doing a cover of this and I'm pretty sure he is fairly heavily inspired by this version in the ways it differs from for example the hendrix original or the SRV later version. Prefer Landau over luke though
10 out of 10 all the way around as usual. ML continues to be my favorite guitarist. What tones and phrasing.
yep!
when it states 'little wing' cover - it is to be quite worth something. and it always is with Mike. Everything's just perfect
i've heard michael playing little wing live ... in 2007 with gary novak and jimmy johnson - my life idols playing most fave ballad ever
Michael plays so sparingly and thoughtfully there is no one like him. That's why he's the top session player.
and a fav of many guitar masters
He never ever rushes. Thats a big thing for me.
Let the flower b l o o m s l o w l y

Beautiful Hendrix flavor and very respectfully done Jimi would of smiled and gave Michael a thumbs up on this brilliant little wing cover!
Absolute master, the perfect blend of technical skills, hot soul and delightful taste. Thanks Mike. ♥️
I can't wipe the smile off my face.... this just sounds so damn good. :D
+Singlecoilheaven There is no end to how good he is

+Didier Martini can't release due to whose health? Get your stuff out now!
I am pretty sure that the "little wing" Lukather did on that old live video is pretty closely modeled after this
the humm at the end..... that's real life.
The MASTER and make no mistake.
This is just great
listened 20 times
I guess this is recorded in Japan, when Michael and Bob Bradshaw was there and had a clinic on a tour whit Burning water in the 90´s
The master!!
I hear Hendrix, SRV Jeff Beck and Eric Johnson in this.
Fabulous tone!
Eric at 2:30 no?
jimi would be proud. nice job.
Brilliant!
Wow, that song really aged Michael Landau. He started off as a young man and by the time the song was over, he was an old(er) man.
inspiring as always!!!! tone and simplicity...perfect...

Is the best Little Wing Cover!!!
Favoloso,,, bravo,, ok

good tone !!
I have a Bulge now.
Guitarists will get that🎸
기타가 운다...
Tone king
Right next up there with Jimi's Royal Albert Hall version ❤️
Mistrz.
Thought there would be at least one photo of him with the 'coma' guitar. hmm...
best guitar play in the world...mike the bulges
Mike's the best. One night he was tipsy and says to me. Ib o'Leary Hendrix better then Hendrix. I was speechless because he had a point.
💚😃🌱🌷
I wonder if that's a Suhr ... sounds a little too hot and smooth for a fender strat ...
dropped... 1 step down
This was recorded in Japan in the 90s, so its likely he was using his James Tyler guitar.
@@kerans74 Sure - but not at all jangly ...
@@bingefeller These guys have a bunch of guitars but yeah maybe ... maybe it's just modulation smoothing things out ...
His amps wound up all the way… could sound like this with a fender too

hahhhahahahhahahahahaha.....
When / where was this recorded?

it sounds as if he uses a fuzz
needs more cowbell
guitar is crying...
