I've found that investing in an India and Arkansas stone means that if I can dress the tips of my screwdrivers to not have imperfections and use the right size tool for the job, buying a set of $60 or $70 higher quality Chinese screwdrivers can cut it for the screwdrivers. Now, I have been paying attention to which screwdrivers I use the most, and I've bought a few one-off Bergeon screwdrivers as my current base is just fine, and I can easily tell the Bergeon screwdrivers from the rest, and I only have 3 of them with a few extra tips.
I am finding your videos very helpful. I love your no nonsense approach and the way you explain things in a simple but informative way. It’s great how you give advice on how to slowly and cost effectively get into the watchmaking craft or hobby.
Hello I’m so glad you made these it’s been years and it’s good to have these
Brilliant video, just starting my journey into all things watches and was totally confused about screwdrivers - your video has answered all of my questions, thankyou.
Glad you enjoyed it, be sure to check out some of my other videos as they may help as well :)
great and honest advice
I have a cheap watch, but I love it & the screw that holds the band in on one side came out (No idea where) but I looked online & have no idea what I need. I am looking at a kit on Amazon that has a bunch of screws & 1 or 2 drivers. Hoping that will work but I'm lost. Great video.
Great video. Very helpful. Thanks a million
Thanks for the video!!
Thank you!
In our Country only 6 types of precision Screwdrivers set is mostly available that is 1.4 mm, 2 mm, 2.4 mm & 3 mm flat ones along with Philips head 0 and 1. So will they do the job ?
Today i started with my first watch (Baumgartner 582). Unfortunately the crown wheel screw was broken (not because of me), so i have to search an other movement. :-(
Hey i super appreciate the video, i'm gonna go with bergeon for the 4 starters but given that i'm gonna be starting on 7s26's for my first project how necessary is that special seiko screwdriver?
I've seen some posts saying you HAVE to have it, and i've seen others saying just get a cheap micro philips head kit and it will do the job. The thing costs more than the frickin bergeon drivers.
Thank you for the video. I have an issue with my screwdrivers becoming magnetic, which is very frustrating with small screws. Do higher end drivers resist this?
How do you change the blades ?
Hi
Is there a specific size screwdriver needed for changing g shock battery. Dont want to buy a full set if not needed .
Any info would be great
Thanks
Chris
Which tool would u recommend to remove the rubber strap on a Certina eagle DS chrono. It looks like a Philip but some what different It takes four of these screws to attach the wrap to the watch Need some helpful advice
Which company & model number?
hi there would i know which is the size for philip stein watch? thank uou
What size is for rolex pepsi with jubilee likks should i get? As well as for submariners?
What sizes for just fitting bracelets generally?
Well id say 1.20/1.40/1.60mm + are what i use most of the time, very rare do i need small drivers.
@@welwynwatches5976 Thank you and for type is Bergeon or Horotech the only way to go? Or any cheaper ones you recommend? Thanks
@@tacomn Bergeon & Horotec are both good choices and will last a long time but cheaper drivers are fine, the blade is more important so id suggest a hardened steel type of blade.
