My dog loves her homemade food. I give her whatever kind of meat is on sale, along with sweet potato, mixed vegetables, brown rice, and beans. I make a big batch of it store it in the fridge. But I started doing this because I couldn't get her to eat dog food, be it the cheapest kibble or most expensive canned food. She'd sniff it walk away. Now she chows down.
I keep kibble on hand because I go to work early in the morning. I will give her a cup of it before I leave for work. She will eat some of it. In the evening, I will mix her leftover kibble with homemade food.
I feed my dogs your other two recipes and they love it! I am going to cook this today. I also put a little bit of dry dog food on to for a crunch element. Now that I don’t use much dry dog food I can afford to buy a better brand as it last way longer. My 3 dogs are super healthy.
Ingredients:
-carrots
-celery
-chicken liver, hearts, gizzards, thighs
-ground beef
-ground turkey
-eggs
-rice
I’m starting this with my one year old lab. The coats on dogs that eat like this are very shiny and healthy looking. Dogs that eat like this live longer with less health issues
We have had Sammy our 100lb. Goldendoodle for almost six years. We are both 69, have practiced safety since COVID 19, and since we have spoiled Sammy, he has always loved my cooking! I’m a southern comfort cook with lots of meats, fruits and veggies! We also added two Goldendoodle puppies in April, Daisy and Pepper. When we decided to get the pups I decided that if I was going to feed homemade I was gonna do it right! I have loved your recipes and learned lots from you. I have also studied up on raw feeding, I prefer rare, suppliments and nutrition and cook homemade for my three dogs. I’ve come to realize it doesn’t have to be rocket science or take lots of time. I check ears, eyes, weight and yes, occasionally poop. The vet is very pleased with their progress and I really enjoy how they love their feeding! Keep sharing and thank you for your posts!
Congratulations on getting your new puppies. Nothing like them to keep us young 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
How much food do you feed per day. I have a 100 pound sheppard and a 65 pound lab. I have no idea how much to give each meal. thanks!
@@Amie-dc7wn I have 3 labs, 1 dashund wondering the same here.
I've got this slow cooking for my 2 large dogs on my stove right now, but I added fresh spinach & kale also. I'll edit this post once I've fed them to let folks know if they liked it or not. THANK YOU for this recipe!
*Update*
Both dogs ate it, loved it, and are quite happy! Wonderful thanks again! Now I can stop buying the 'cancer in a dog food bag' I've been feeding them.
I have told NOT to feed my dog kale, well at least not very often and small amounts. Not to question what you are doing but just to make you aware.
Did you use organ meats as well? That is one thing I keep forgetting about....ugh
@@mamabetts Damn, I had no idea! Just looked it up to see if you were right and you are; kale = kidney stones + bladder stones in dogs. THANK YOU. I won't include kale again. And yes, I am using organic meats in their feed. Best to you!
@@melissaorona2834 not organic meats, but organ meats, like chicken liver. We're supposed to not only use muscle meats like chicken thighs and breasts but also organ meats like chicken liver or hearts.
His dog is so cute
PRECIOUS FURBABY!!!! 🐾💗🐾
my favourite part is watching him eat!
that's one healthy dog his coat is beautiful xx
My batches are for 60 days. I bag it in 3 day portions and freeze it. To save money you can buy JennyO ground turkey 3 pounds for 10.00.
I use chicken livers and hearts, a pound of ground beef, some rice, frozen peas and carrots, frozen French style green beans, sweet potato, fresh zucchini cooked and I chop a dozen hard boiled eggs in the blender, shells and all. He hops and skips to his bowl. It’s so cute.
PS. To cook the meat. I sauté all the ground meat til cooked fully, I chop the hearts and liver in the blender to a fine chop and sauté it too. It’s liquidity but it cooks up to a fine ground meat.
I mix it all in a wash tub and fill the bags
I read where peas are not good for dogs...but I use a lot of other greens. My dogs hate eggs and rice...even flavored. Heads up....if you have an Aldi store they sell 1 pound frozen lean ground Turkey for $1.89.
marie d Thank you for the info 😊
You use great ingredients. Thank you for sharing. 👍👍😊
I really need advice, I have a 8 year old labrador retriever girl, I want her to live maximum life possible should I cook this meals she refuses to eat kibble I tried most expensive to least expensive nothing works , I'm currently giving her some raw beef as well omega 3 oil in her food, and joint pills she picks out what she likes minus the kibble help please.....
@@Raluca1030 Raw, I’m not sure about. I cook all the meat he eats
Ask your vet for sure
I think I have his sister. Your recipe must be good. He really really really liked it. Im goint to make it. I wish I had a friend that used his stove 2x a day.
Me&wifey says you are a real loved pet owner the way you feed him you really do love him yes you do thanks for the video
I’m a new a dog mom and super excited to start feeding homemade foods. My question is what are the other foods that you feed your dogs throughout the day if this isn’t the only meal?
Gosh...never see dogs eat like that from canned dog food...lol😂 thanks for recipe.
Your dog must think he lives at the Ritz Hotel !
I just rescued a Pitbull Terrier from the animal shelter, about two months ago, and I have been inspired by this video, to try homemade dog food for health reasons, thanks Man !!!🤙🏻
I'm actually getting hungry watching this
What a great dad you are! So cute, a lot of love went into that meal!
He is adorable!
Great recipe, thank you.
Adorable pup!💕
you are awsome for cooking for your dogs!
Hahahaha I loved how he doubted your "ok" the second time round....what a smart, smart dog!! Cheers for the recipe!
Right he did that because hi didn’t know if the owner was just explaining that was the word or actually telling him to go lol hilarious
This was so cool. TFS!
Thank you so much. Made this for my shitzu. She ate the lot!!!!!!! Loved the potato masher idea.
Great video! I am definitely making this for my dog who is a picky eater. Great video and very informative!
Great video love your dog thanks for sharing brightest blessings
Great one.
Another great recipe to try!! I love how he sits there licking his lips, he can't wait for the 'Ok'!!
How adorable and good boy he is.
He’s so adorable. ❤️
😎👍🏽Great recipe, job, and tips! TFS.
🐶...Such a pleasant dog, btw.
Looks amazing for sure I'll try this recipe
I'm preparing this exact dish, right now, for my Ori. I should film her reaction to it, and upload to my channel. Thank you for a wonderful recipe, I know her little body is going to enjoy it.
Egg shells are essential for calcium in dog's home cooked diet...lovely stay command! My pup is going deaf and must now start training with a whistle and hand signals. Old dog New tricks...hmmm it is for his safety, otherwise I would not force it upon him. Thank you for the cooking show...a real man cave approach...we loved it!
My dog lost her hearing as well and she got the hand signals right away. Dogs are so smart I feel closer to her now because we pay each other more attention.
I bought some bone meal instead
The anticipation eyes on your dog's face is hilarious!
Food very delicious and very healthy and yummy thanks for sharing recipe for your dog
Very trained and loyal dog. I’ll have to train my dog to do this.
that Pooch really knows how to chow down, what a cute dog !!
OOOPPPPsSSSSs
I thought I was still on you SALMON dog treats... I guess I hit another video... LOL
lol that's ok :) I don't think I made salmon dog treats ever though for video. Maybe I did and forgot lol. But, I do have many dog treat and food videos :)

AND... Thank you for making them... It is so SCARY to ready what are in some of these so-called good dog treats....

I followed your recipe today and made this for my dog and he LOVED IT!!! Thank you so much for this video! Seeing my dog this happy makes me happy ❤
Awesome to hear!!!
@@earthling1984 this type of home made meals can be can I replace dry dog food out of his meals ? Will my labrador retriever 8 year old get all its needs from it? Help please

I love seeing people make food for there pets i make my for my dog when i can and treats that the vet oked sometime i sell it . thanks
That danm dog eats better than me....
Sadly true.. same
Ikr
Love this. Such a cute pup. I don’t have a pet, but I’m here!! New subbie!!! ❤️🐶
He is adorable
Very nice 👍
Thank you for posting your recipes!! They are very helpful. 😊 And resourceful. I am learning that commercial store bought dog food is not so healthy to give to your dog. 🐕 I have 2 dogs; one has cancer and the other now has Cushings disease. I am trying to prolong their lives as best I can do they can be happy and comfortable. Your dog food looks like something they will enjoy. 🐶 Plus it's healthy and affordable! And I love your dog!! He is sooo cute!!! OK!
OMG....the face at 9:55 was priceless!!
I also make all my food and make different recipes, gizzards and hearts are good for doggies. She love it! Her health has zoomed to the top, her coat is shiny and her breath smells nice.
I really like this I am coming up with ways too get my parents to let me get a dog and now I can make my own food!!
Omg your dog is soooo adorable
I'm going to try this out, my dog has partial anorexia and barely eats his food now, I hope he will like this
is he ok now
Update ??
@@jeniyakamille1266 Sorry for the super late update. Unfortunately, he did not make it. He had cancer and was losing weight rapidly, so I made the decision to put him down to end his suffering.
Love your beautiful min pin!!! I’m a min pin owner too 😘
Thanks for your response making another batch as we speak
Holy smokes! That dog is LOL-cute! With his buggy eyes and licking, he looks like he hasn't eaten in a week! Great vid - thanks for posting.
I've watched a few videos on making dog food and this one has a lot more protein than some of the others which had more vegetables in them. I'm going to have a go. I'm sure my dog will really appreciate my efforts! Thanks for making this video. Your dog is great!
He's so cute 😘
nice pup
Good video. It is nice to hear you also include some raw food in his diet.
I’m so going to try this tomorrow!!
It looks good and healthy..
quick question. Can I give this to my dog too?
😜😋
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 love your dog licking
his chops before eating 😂😂
😁😁
😂😂
I dont mean to be offtopic but does any of you know a trick to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Rohan Samuel instablaster :)
Looks good, I prefer to use my coffee grinder for those egg shells, dogs need 1 tsp for every 20 lbs of weight.
This is the BEST dog food recipe I've seen! I wanna try it!
Try it out! Be sure to check my other dog food and treat videos too!
Yep. I will have to taste it first to make sure it is edible for my fur babies.
"Ok" what? "Ok" oh boy time to eat. Haha. Man your dog is so well behaved.
LoL. Yeah the 2nd time he waited for two "ok's" because the first time I stopped him. My bad. He is a very smart dog. :)
Earthling1984 yes he is very smart.
Is this okay for my pup?..she's 3 months old
Dogs behavior is representative of its owner own behavior!
now you can come train my dogs to wait for food like you trained your well behaved dog
How many times a day does Jack get fed?
I do a similar recipe. I use chicken gizzards, chicken liver, chicken hearts, beef liver, turkey, brown rice, pumpkin and other vegetables, and fruit ( strawberry, blueberry, banana, and mango ). Dogs need the vegetables and fruit just as much as the meat.
When the SHTF you will be able to share this with your pups.!!!!
wow i had no clue egg shells were safe to eat for dogs
also the part where you accidentally said ok was funny ;D
AbztraK egg shells are calcium. Totally safe. Actually necessary. Are any other supplements added into this food?
You nice. Owner your dog are very healthy food
Thank you! I love your recipes. Any guidance on how much to give them each day? I have a 60 lb dog and a 6 lb dog. Also, what are your thoughts on supplements like a multi and/or cod liver oil?
All that protein is great but I would add a few more items like kale, flaxseed, coconut oil or sweet potatoes.
Wow you're the nicest pet owner. Some parents don't spend this much effort feeding their kids lol. On a side note I recently learned that most Coyote diets consist of 85% wild vegetables and only 15% meat from the occasional rabbit. So yeah, your dog is spoiled :-)
Wow this would last for alot for my chihuahua👌
I'm glad he makes food that humans can eat
Thanks so much. I don’t measure I just mix, cook, and freeze.
Same
Maybe you can rinse your canned vegetables when you can't find reduced or salt free.
He nice dog adorable eyes so big he's so cute dog i loved your dog i am his fans from New york iam subscribe in your channel i will never skip ad support your dog
Wow add the shells ok ..very interesting. I feed honest kitchen and add fresh cooked meat. I been watching homemade dog food videos to see if it’s cheaper. Currently Christmas 2022 not sure it would be food is so expensive.
“Okay” is my dogs’ release word to eat as well. So cute! My problem is, both of my dogs are really big! It will take so much of this food to feed them. I just made my first homemade food for them yesterday and I feel like I put too many carbs (rice). 😬
Love your videos, 🙏🏼 do you feed Jack the same food at dinner time? What are other suggestions for dinner?! Thanks
Your baby is too cute... I watch your videos just to see him..No lie..😂😂😂😂
Lynn Happy cruiser :)
I put a little more veggies in mine. I use brown rice and quinoa and flax. I sometimes put in fish and she live her fish. Canned tuna, salmon, sardines etc. I rince my rice and quinoa and this should be done too because of the residue on both and quinoa is something that needs rincing. I put in a bit of chicken bouillon but only 1 cube as it is salty and a touch of garlic…not much either. I grind my eggshells because I have a small dog. If my mixture is too thin, which rarely happens, I add less than 1/4 cup oatmeal. Doggie loves it! I freeze in smaller containers, not sure about keeping an extra large container in frig for too many days. Mine is a dainty eater…your dog is a true muncher! These homemade food are so much better for our animals and really nothing to make. They get so they know when you are cooking for them and are so happy. Cook for your doggies, they will thank you for it and live longer and healthier.
Is it possible to make a video specifically for dog that needs low purine dog food that is home made ? I have a Dalmatian so I’ve been looking to switch to raw or this type of food for him so. Thank you great videos love them
Hi Qhich other food do you give your dog together with this one you just fixed?
You're probably a good human food cook, too!
Check out my cooking channel :) EarthlingCooks
A friend recently told me to allow everything to cool in metal pots, not plastic, so nothing leaches from the plastic into the food. Just wanted to let you know because it is obvious that you care deeply about your dogs :) Thank you for the recipe! Do you know how much total you spend on each batch of food?
Important tip!
Not a big deal but as a person who sold Tupperware for years, the plastic containers you use are not Tupperware. LOL. About your stove top, don't even worry about it, that just means you are an awesome chef. I'm doing this recipe right now and I hope my girl loves it.
Thank you so much for the videos. How much should I feed a 40lb Goldendoodle?
You're welcome! The general rule for homemade is 2 to 5 percent of dogs body weight per day. 3% is a good starting point.
*edit... So, about 1.2lbs per day.
i dont even have a dog and i love these videos, you still got beardies my man?
Thanks. Yup, still got beardies.
How long will this batch of food last you? I have a senior dog and she has lost a lot of her teeth and I have started feeding her can food but this would be way cheaper. Just curious how often u have to make a batch?
Dog's very intelligent
Once you put the dog food in the freezer. Do you heat it up on the stove or microwave?
When taken out of the freezer do you put it in the fridge to thaw?
Eveything. You giving your dog are healthy i am sure your dog live
Longer because you are best dad owner your dog you feed your dog very well thats why. They healthy and well
Behaved dog and obedience dog your dog is happy when. He saw his food smell delicious and yummy
Great video. Do you slightly warm up the food out of the fridge or cold?
I just serve it straight from fridge.
Did I miss something?
Did you show after they were baked? I missed it somehow...
I’m pretty sure your stove top is where the Coronavirus began 😂
Wow hey im so happy i fou d this bc my fog needs natural foods eith the ear i fections she gets all the skin issues drives me crazy! Has anyone done this and seen super good results?
Justin Fisher. I have not yet. But I’ve been mixing vinegar and water and rubbed my dog where the skin is dry and flaky. It worked within a couple of days
Hi, do you heat it up after you have made it?
Can you do a video about What your dog eats in a day? (To be healthy and get all his nutrients)
I've been researching cooking for my own dogs. I've also been looking into raw feeding but not only does raw feeding seem complicated getting the right balance etc, but I have 3 small dogs between 5 & 9 pounds and my rescue guy came to me with no teeth.
So bones and chunks are not an option for him. I think home cooking will be way less complicated....thanks for the demonstration!
No problem! Another tip if you want to "set it and forget it". You can use a large crockpot.
Getting the right balance doesn't change whether you are raw feeding or cooking it. Remember bones are part of a dogs diet so if they aren't getting it you need to supplement that into their diet. Be sure to get calcium without d3 in it.
I have read many times they can catch stuff off of raw meat and can get very sick, something to ponder.
