- So The Sims 4 Island Living just came out, and today I'm going to show you 10 new features in the expansion pack that you might not know!

A lot of you said this, but no, you can't turn your pets into a dolphin with the mermadic kelp. I assume you know it from watching LaurenzSide video, but she scripted that scenario just for storytelling purpose (there's not even a footage of the dog eating the kelp).

Another thing with the locals. If you don’t open the door for them (like if you don’t notice them for don’t want them) they don’t get angry like the locals in other neighbourhoods. They just say “sorry we missed you”.
Sulani knows how to make normal assumptions. I mean I was totally ignoring you, but they don't know if I'm home

If your sim drowns in the ocean, the grim reaper will Spontaneously burst out of the water and the urn will have a floatie around it

0:57 They could've implemented a firefighter NPC with that same exact feature. Just change their outfit into a firefighter one and that's it. Such a missed opportunity right there.
I'm hoping the modding community could use this to put firefighters in the game
I mean seriously because my sim died of a fire nobody showed up
I don't have this expansion but two random sims shows up to my house every time a fire breaks out...I love this idea so I'm not constantly kicking strangers out
It's kinda cool if u ask me how the neighbors are so nice

I had a glitch where my mermaid sim died in the water and then the grim reaper spawned and then he died so my sim just stood up when back to her house and made a grilled cheese.........

one thing about this pack that’s on my mind is that when you go into the shipwreck house in the volcano place (not sure what it’s called) there’s a chest inside the house that can only be opened by a key that is ‘lost to the depths’. i’m guessing you have to scuba dive for the key. don’t know if this is relevant but it seems interesting

Literally every time I go to the beaches, there are like 3 or 4 of them in a pile 😂

Yea it's like a bug, everytime I return to a certain beach, another ordinary shell is added to the pile of ordinary shells I ignored earlier.
Its literally the first shell i pick up every game. I make a new game, dig for shells, special.

I really like all the details on the pack, especially the turtles and the Island elementals! Reminds me of the sims 3!
I bought it 3 days ago but didn't understand what i could do. Now i'm so excited and can't wait to play with it
I know, a lot of people are saying that the gameplay in lacking, and that it's just a game pack with the price of an ep slapped on it, but I disagree ONE THOUSAND percent. First of all, I think the world bumps it up to an ep. I mean, yes, the gameplay is KIND OF lacking. A lot of people say that they could've done more with the mermaids, but honestly, I don't care. They do so much for storytelling (which is what I mainly do) and the fact that they had to do the animations, and make the tails and the premade faces, I mean, why is everybody so greedy?

Fun fact - Some of the Sims that come with this pack actually have Samoan names! I also think it's really cool how the game took actual inspo from real Pacific Clothing 😂

Ali Alaska I have it the other Way around. Of course it Can be annoying at times. But it is more realistic, if You have ah ARD time getting rid of people.
They come in, stay, have dinner, go to sleep and get naked with a kid in the next room! That old granny with flower tiara particularly.

Rainbow Cray-Z omg I’m also getting it for my 13th birthday except mine is on August 7th. You can create your own bundle (one expansion, one game pack, and one stuff pack) for 40 bucks. It’s a really good deal in my opinion, because you get more for the same price. Well at least for me because my dad said he isn’t spending more than that on a game.

*snorks at Maui getting up to all sorts of mischief in the background* These are cool, though -- I knew about the conch and the kelp, but the different types of dolphins were new! Plus being able to invite Island Elementals into your home as slight-special Sims -- neat! (Someone now needs an Elemental and Father Winter to have a kid -- I'd love to see a child with both of those bonus traits!) And it's good to know at what stages of the Fitness skill you get the better swimming animations. :) Kinda wish the island festivals came with SOME sort of pop-up, though. We got a mod for that yet?

I really hope they keep doing packs like this that let you experience another culture. I think it's a great idea for sim players like me who love to make different kinds of people from different places. I hope that I see more things like this. Even if it's from a modder, I'd be happy!

I'm surprised you didn't include the shark feature, I think it's a pretty hidden part of the expansion! Good work though :)
Good catch! Actually I was planning to but I felt that it's not that big of a feature. They will only give you a tense moodlet and that's it, unlike the sims 3 where they can literally devour you.
