In church we haven’t been able to do lament very well...so true. And it’s not only in church, I find that people have difficulty dealing with lament, many times I have to keep a lot of sadness that I feel for the sufferings of others or the world, to myself because most people have not been taught that there is a time to weep...it happens in all cultures, not just British.
N.T. Wright as he closes: "It's very good to talk on this, whatever it is, a Friday morning or something..." As someone astutely pointed out recently, it's Blursday.
NT hit the nail on the head with respect to racism. The church was influenced by contemporary culture so they validated racism when they should have been opposed to it. And I see the same thing happening today in America. Contemporary culture is conforming the church to its image. We are not standing apart.
Yeah. The Almighty in His Infinite Wisdom, allows bats and pangolins to survive the virus, and to spread it to humans, but turns a blind eye when millions of his "Special Creation" die in unspeakable agony. Over to you, Tom.
Thank you so very much.
One again, many thanks. N.T Wright has encapsulated what I feel and think.
