If you use a Bic lighter, and with the same grip, hold your thumb down off the cap. Pop it kind of hard and POP the cap should go flying. It's quite fun to do when no ones looking because the pop can be loud. :)

I use a knife blade some times. or a bic lighter. Also been known to use my cheap ole leatherman c33 pocket knife. the carabeener makes a perfect bottle opener.
Use the back of a metal spoon screwdriver anything slim and strong. Slowly and patiently pry all the way around until every notch of the cap is bent out and it will basically fall off on it own.
Jeff, are you right handed? If so, try holding the bottle with your right hand and use your left to open it. If I held it with my left I would fill more comfortable doing it your way. (Using your index finger as a pivot point.) I was taught this using a bic lighter, I use my right hand to hold it though. I pivot off my thumb, and put my index finger over the cap so it doesn't fly over. First time ever opening a beer I used the side of a table. I enjoy the videos man! Keep em coming.

German here. You should grip the bottle a little bit higher. So that you can put pressure on the cap by squeezing your tool of choice against the cap with your left hand while putting leverage on the cap with the tool. Makes it way easier. Either that or you grab the top of the cap with your thumb and push the tool with your hand (specifically index finger) upwards by, again, squeezing your hand towards the thumb. I can even open a beer with a simple coin that way. Don't just use your hand as a static place put your tool on, let the other hand work too.
SCISSORS!!!!! AHH IT WORKED SO WELL WITH SISORS you could also use a (clean) coin or anything like i once used it with w spoon just took awhile had to get all the right angels to pop it off!! But scissors are one of the most quickest ive ever opened it

you can use the 20 to open it to even if you rip it most banks will let you exchange it (some wont)
